Smile attempting lucid dreaming help sought!

      Hi all
my name is Rick I am from Italy.
I became interested in LD about four months ago,and recently acquired the book LD supplements by Yuschak.
So I got myself choline bitatrate 600mg (extended release) Melatonin 3mg caps and Galantamine 8 mg(Remynil very expensive in Italy).Last saturday I made a first attempt by taking galantamine and 1 choline pill before sleeping, naturally it had no effect except for the next day nap where I experienced auditory perceptions.
I let some days pass and tried again last night ,this time at 4 AM took again 1 galantamine and 1 choline, did not fall asleep for the rest of the morning .
I read up about taking valerian together with the pills.
I must say that I take prescription meds (Seroquell 200 and Depakim Chromo
aka Depakote)but I can skip the meds on the night I intend attempting LD.
I have read that some people take combination melatonin+choline+galantamine ,can someone give me some advice for next trial? I live in a small town ,supplements are hard to get, they are heavily regulated by government and many are downright illegal so I have to make do with what I can find here.
Any advice is greatly appreciated,I believe LD can help me in many ways.
      thanks and ciao

      Welcome to the DreamViews community

I'm not too familiar with supplements but I'm sure people can help you out in this part of the forum: http://dreamviews.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=44

I also highly recommend this guide: http://dreamviews.com/community/showthread.php?t=56235 There you can read up on the different supplements and it even has recommendations for combinations. I'd give it a read.

From what I heard, Galantamine is basically a "lucid dreaming pill". Which it isn't. It's actually supposed to be used to treat alzheimers.

      Good luck

Supplements don't give you LD's. Awareness does.
Read some tuts around here and you'll be having them in no time.
      Working on: Daily awareness.
Lucid Task: Reverse the flow of a waterfall and ride up it.

True, but it wouldn't hurt to experiment if you use them as recommended.

I don't use supplements often because I'm afraid of how they would affect my recall and I just like getting LD's the old fashion way.

Hey there Rick!, truth is there is no pill to make you lucid dream... they might help you a bit but 'your own will' is what's gonna make the trick... I hope you've read the tutorials already... Its not like you CAN'T LD without the supplements... so don't worry about spending your money on expensive stuff... Believe in your self... That's free and it works better than any 'pill'

If you insist on taking supplements, do... but remember they'll never work if you don't train your mind a bit... again, read the tutorials, start a dream journal... reality checks and stuff... there's no need to put your health at risk, you just gotta be patient... good luck!
Talk to a dream character (X), Have a shared dream and go to the moon ( ), Go to the Bottom of the ocean in an Astral Projection ( ), Meet my higher self or a higher anything!! ( )...

Smile hi all ,thanks for the answers

I am also trying to use traditional methods for having LD,started a Dream Journal and so on.Some of us are less fortunate at having the constant will to succeed,I thought I could "cheat" a little ,enough to have the experiences, deal with my fears and eventually feel more motivated to apply will and serious work to keep having those experiences without the use of external stimuli.
thank you all for the support
