      Sleep Paralysis?

Hey guys, just read the Sleep paralysis article in the tutorial section, and think it might have been what I went through last night. I was lying in bed, and then quickly fell into a dream, although I was aware I was dreaming, in the dream I was lying down and could not move and my eyes were stuck in one spot, I tried to speak but could not and I also heard some sort of music playing , this may have lasted for maybe a few minutes and then I woke up and finally turned over and went to sleep. Can anyone tell me if this is what sleep paralysis is? Or have i experienced something different entirely?

You didn't have sleep paralysis, you were dreaming you were having sleep paralysis. You couldn't move in the dream because you thought you were going through SP, so you shouldn't be able to move.

Sleep paralysis happens before you enter a dream. During SP you might see imagery which might form into a dream. Or you won't see anything at all. It varies from person to person.

Chocolate may be right. It could just be a dream of sleep paralysis. The fake music shows that you were in a full dream state. Now, since you were totally asleep, I'm sure that you did have sleep paralysis, (since your body goes through SP when it sleeps.)

You may have been feeling SP in the dream because your body was feeling it in real life, though. That happens. Like, you feel like you are falling because you rolled off of the bed.

Final note, people who have SP often can move very slightly and move their eyes. The fact that you were one hundred percent stunned makes me think that it was a dream thing.

Thanks for the replies guys! I agree with your posts. I have experienced this before when I have entered a dream where I was waking up, and looking around my room trying to lift myself up out of bed, but could not and felt the same sort of pressure on my chest and I then finally woke up
