      Improving dream clarity?

I just had my first semi-lucid dream last night. The problem though is that it was bit hazy and I couldn't really see what was happening, hence the term semi-lucid. Has anyone had this problem as well and if so what helped you?

      Thanks

you helped me so i'll help you
try taking vitamin B6 supplements before bed, you can get them from any pharmacy or ever supermarket. it makes dreams really vivid and easier to remember. also try eating turkey sandwich before bed, not sure why but it helps!

That'll probably work. Shouting 'clarity now!' or something like it is very popular too.

It also depends at what point during the night you have the dream. Later REM cycle tend to have better clarity.

I hate the term semi-lucid. You are lucid, or you're not. Having a hazy dream doesn't dictate whether or not you are aware you are asleep.
I find that some of my LDs are "hazy" in the sense that I can't see very well and its like there are big black patches and fuzziness over my vision. I often rub my hands together or start moving or running and it works. If not just wake up, don't move, and slip back into the dream.

      Ditto.

Sight has nothing to do with how conscious you are of the dream state. So congrats on your 1st LD.

Along with rubbing your hands, doing a tactile RC might help as well. I've have a couple of LDs where I increased clarity by doing the hand through palm RC.

Spin and (or) rub your hands together (spinning woke me up when i was new to LDing so rub hands together first)

It happens to me too. As it has been told, yelling "Clarity now", spinning (with your eyes openned, lol) and rubbing your hands are very popular but, whenever this hapenned to me, I instinctly did something else which worked for me.

Once I was walking in my dreamscape and I realized everything was going black as I was starting to go blind so I grabbed the edge of a slide that happened to be there. Even though I was not communicating with the dream with sight, I was through feeling and my sight rapidly came back. it was also cool to feel but not to see.
Once, I became lucid and flew in the sky and everything went white. There was nothing around me other than white. I touched the air and I felt the water in it. Rained appeared for a second and disappeared revealing a new landscape.

In brief, try to interact with your dream using other senses and you might be able to see again.

      Hope I helped

Best advice in this thread so far.

This, combined with proper focus, is how I'm now able to sustain and extend my LDs long past the point where I should have woken up. I highly suggest you do this. As SCD showed from his experiences, touch seems to be easiest and most effective sense to stimulate, so starting there might be a good idea.

However, if aids are the way you want to go. . . may I suggest Apple Juice?

Indeed. If you immerse yourself in the dream you'll probably get over it.
