Welcome to DV, I'm glad someone could direct you here! Unfortunately that is a typical reaction when broaching the subject of lucid dreaming, so it's cool that you had a friend who knew what it was |

I have never heard of this site before and was only told about it by a friend on Face Book. From what I have seen so far this site is wicked an it may help me 2 understnd why I have had a lucid dream almost every night now for the past 2 weeks and counting. I talked 2 a couple friends and my brother about them but they didnt understand and gave me a look like I was from another planet. I started wondering maybe im wierd....so I posted one of the dreams I had on Face Book in the hope that someone may understand. Thats when a friend of mine told me about this site. Im glad 2 know that other people have lucid dreams. Ever since I was young I would have an LD maybe once every month then when I started smoking weed my dreams stopped all togeather. I smoked everyday for years and not once did I realise that I wasnt dreaming. I gave up smoking for my kids then one night I had an extremely vivid dream(non lucid) the first in about seven years..wow. Ill never forget the moment I awoke i almost started 2 cry. Just lately I have noticed that once I reach a dream state I am able 2 become lucid or realise im dreaming quite easily and almost at will. They are the best thing ever an once I become lucid I keep telling myself to not wake up and 2 stay within this dream world because they are so wicked...virtually the skies the limit. I look foward to reading about everyones experiences an I hope you all will enjoy mine. LUCID DREAMS rock. |

Yes that friend would be you lol. Thanx again 4 telling me about this site. I have so many Lucid dreams that I want 2 share. I may have some techniques that may be helpful in attaining lucidity also ways 2 make them more intense and vivid. Ive still got alot 2 learn and so many things 2 try out.Once again cheers Bro |

Ahh, well welcome! And congrats on stopping the habit. I think I read somewhere that when you smoke you stop REM, therefore stopping dreams. Though I've heard from some that it's not necessarily true (that you need REM, to have dreams) but dreaming is most likely during REM periods. You must have smoked alot to completely stop the dreams for 7 years. REM-rebounds I heard are very vivid. |
