No, there are no side effects, it's just sleep, same as every other sleep, you're just aware of it. |

The only side effect is people tend to thing you are a weirdo. Many of the people at work know I'm into lucid dreaming and I suspect I am the butt of many of their jokes when my back is turned. |

My friends/family think you aren't getting the rest you need, but its not your body thats becoming active, its you brain. so you still get the same amount of rest, if not more. That's what I say. They also say things like, "This lucid dreaming stuff is riuning your sleep!" .....no coment. |

Lucid dreaming tends to influence your sleep positively. The most successful lucid dreamers make sure they get enough sleep, and also make sure their sleep is healthy. Unhealthy sleep means less dreams and poorer recall, after all! |

When you sleep, your brain is in fact more active than when you are awake. The only difference between the normal sleeping mind and the lucid sleeping mind is that in lucidity your logic centre is turned on. I don't understand why your friend would think lucidity makes you less aware of what is real and what isn't. Lucidity is all about learning to differentiate the two, a skill that most non-dreamers lack. If anything, you have a better understanding of the world, and are not only lucid in sleep but in waking life as well. At least, that's what you preach, right Naiya? |

See, your thinking is like mine. I also don't see why, but I won't go into detail. But I guess some people take it differently, so...yeah. |
