*Sigh* Can someone tell me if this was a Lucid Dream?

I've been trying the past few days to have a Lucid dream, to no avail.

However, last night, I don't remember totally what happened, however, I do remember at one point saying "Is this a dream?....Wait....I think it is!" and then I kinda felt like I was in there. However then I couldn't control myself shouting "OH MY GOD! I DID IT!" and then I heard this kinda roaring sound and everything went white and I woke up.

It kinda felt like I was in the dream but I kinda didn't.

Was it a lucid dream or was it like a dream about a lucid dream or something? =/

      Thanks!

seems like a short lucid dream to me, but still counts as a dream
good job, next time if you feel that "fading away" feeling, spin around in your dream, rub your hands, touch your tongue to the roof of your mouth and shout "Increase vividness"
all these prolong your lucid dream, I think the spinning around works better.

also good job on your first lucid dream =)!

I've heard about doing those things. But the problem was, it was like I knew I was in a dream, but I had no control over even what I said.

That's the first one I've ever had.

But one thing I DID notice, was that I slept for about 10 hours last night and I remember every single dream I had, which has never happened to me before.

I'll try again tonight. I tried using the WILD. I went to sleep at 11 and woke up around 4, turned my alarm off, fixed up my bed sheets and relaxed and focused on my breathing, but after around 15 minutes, I started seeing what I thought were blobs, but I fell asleep >.<. Maybe it was my subconscious that "woke me up" in the dream"?

Man, it's frustrating, I really want to get it right Dx

Sounds like you managed it. Congrats.

The first few will be all too short as you will get over excited and wake up. Just keep going - soon you will be able to control your emotions better and the LDs will be come longer.

Extending LDs and Control is next - and this takes a while to practice also.

Thanks, and yes it was last night.

Evildoctor, is it lucid even though it kind of felt I didn't have control over what was going on, but I knew I was dreaming? It all feels a little Vague, is that normal for my first?

Lucid dreaming is simply knowing that you are dreaming when you are dreaming, control is a whole 'nother thing.
You can lucid dream and have no control, lucid dream and have control, just be dreaming and have no control (most common), or just dream and have full control (not knowing you are dreaming)

Alright. Hopefully I can make it last longer tonight. Or at least have enough control to rub my hands or spin round.

Anyone else have any other tips if I use WILD?

First step is to know you are dreaming.

This is good - it means you now know it is possible and you can do it.

The LDs will get longer amd their frequency will increase, and your control and abilities will grow with time. Just keep going........

      Haha sweet.

Is the WILD the easiest for people who are new to it? Or would anyone suggest anything else?

I've tried the reality check stuff, but I feel like an idiot doing it and often forget during the day ><

WILD is actually for experts, or people who have time to get up during the night and then go back to bed. The thing about WILD is that it can take a long time to achieve, and you may feel too uncomfortable and move around, making it impossible.
I would suggest you stick to Reality Checks, I only do the nose plugging one and it works pretty well in dreams. Also you can give DEILD a try, it's basically a shortened WILD. It consists of waking up after a dream, not opening your eyes, not moving and going back into the dream.

I have plenty of time during the night lol. I just finished high school and have about 4 more months of holidays.

For DEILD I wouldn't have a way of waking up without moving.

But also, with Reality Checks, wouldn't it be rare to perform them in real life in a situation that will actually make you realize you're dreaming?

Everyone is different, but most would agree that WILD takes a little more time to learn than DILD/MILD.

Odd things go down when you WILD, Hypnogogic Halcinations - which can be visual, tactile or audial. Sleep Paralysis, etc.

If you are still getting used to the whole idea of LDing then I would wait until you have had a few more DILDs under your belt first.

The main trick with WILDing is being calm and ambivient with anything and everything that happens during the phase up and transition. Practice not over emoting during DILDs first - then make some WILD attempts.

Also know that very few manage a WILD on their first attempt.

Alright, thanks, I'll give it a shot. In one of my dreams last night I dreamed I was at work and funky things started happening, like for some reason the workplace was filled with water and we were all working under the water. So maybe I should perform a lot of reality checks at work today and at home because one of my dreams was last night was ALL at home?

I woke up a LOT during last night's sleep, probably around once every 1-2hours after I had my LD. But every time before I went back to sleep I kept saying to myself "I will have a lucid dream, I will have a lucid dream" and counting in between. So that combined with a lot of reality checks today might help me have a LD tonight?
