      Losing Recall?

I was determined to wait to come to this website, but I'm a bit desperate.

It seems like lately my recall has been getting worse and worse. I have a dream journal, and when I wake up in the morning I'll be pumped to write in the journal. However, if I wait even five minutes, I'll hardly remember it.

I don't think I'm doing anything that messes with my dreams. =/ As far as I know the only thing that'll mess with it is my random as hell sleeping times.

During the weekdays I usually go to bed at 11:30-12:30ish and almost always get up from 7-7:30.

On the weekends I go from 2-2:30 and get up from 9-11 in the morning. Those are my sleep in days, ha ha...

Anyone have any suggestions? I'd like my recall back. I can't have much luck with lucid dreaming if I can't even remember the dreams, right? Ha ha... :3

When you are going to sleep you should make a picture of what you would like to dream of and when you wake you look at it. If this does nothing try doing a picture dream journal. I have never tried or asked about it but can't hurt to try right?

I'm going through the same problem. Recall dryspells are normal, and will usually go away after a while.

To help it go along faster, though, there are several things you could do. If there's any stress in your life right now, that may be a cause. Eliminating stress is one way to (hopefully) get your recall back. Sometimes reading before bed helps you have more memorable dreams which you will be unlikely to forget. You could also eat/drink certain things before going to bed, such as a banana or apple juice.

Hope this helps! Oh, and welcome to DV!

Thanks for the quick replies. X3

Eh, I'm not sure about the stress-in-life thing, there isn't too much. I have finals this week in school, but I don't know if that would really count.

I could try the reading, I usually don't read before bed. =/ I do try to eat/drink odd things before I go to bed. Maybe they're starting to get a bit too normal or something.

Could I ask what a picture dream journal is?
