      introduction for owlj

Hey all. Well, I'm a 'newbie' to this site. Just looking for a place that is focused on dreams and lucid dreaming. I work in the mental health field and certified in heart centered hypnotherapy. I've been practicing lucid dreaming for about 25 years now. Consciousness and the power of the mind has always fascinated me. I've been trying to get people together to experiment with shared dreaming for years. I've managed to get a couple of groups together for short periods of time that never amounted to much. I did find a partner who I did very well with (like, WoW ) but haven't found another since. This is one of my primary interests.

I should mention that it's been a while since I've had a lucid dream and even longer since I've done it intentionally. It was getting to a point where I thought I could gain more from non-lucid dreams. And the connections that I had with the partner in dreaming were not actually shared dreams but psychic information relayed through dreams. Such as, he dreamt true things about my childhood and I dreamt things that he was doing in life. We didn't tell each other much about our personal lives at that time and he was just someone over the internet like you all.

Thanks for reading, anxious to meet you and check out more around this site and forum.

Well, since it sounds that you experienced lucid dreaming intentionally before, it shouldn't be too long for it to come back. That's just a opinion anyway, welcome to the forums, hope you recover your lucid dreams soon.

Thanks. No, it shouldn't take long. The only thing I'm remotely worried about (no pun intended) is that I am much busier than before. I'm a full-time grad student and full-time at a pretty stressful job in addition to hypnotherapist on the side. But it's OK, all stuff that I love. This will actually be therapeutic in that it will cause me to slow down and have fun with something I've been interested in most of my life. I read a magazine article about lucid dreaming when I was around 10 years old and had my first (intentional) lucid dream that night. I was immediately hooked. It's never been difficult for me so that's cool. I've only had one success with a WILD though. I think it was more awesome than anything so maybe I'll try to get into that again. That also happened the first night that I read about the techniqe. Remember it so clear. I was at my (now husband) boyfriend's house and was snowed in so I read all of his books while he was out working. The technique was in one of the books. I knew then that maybe I should hold on to this one.
