I tried it both at the start of the night and also when i had woken up after being asleep for a while. Last night I tried the same but with reverse blinking, which got me to fall asleep much faster, but I lost consciousness and just started dreaming. However, in the morning after I had woken up from a dream, I tried for ages to get back in, and then finally I felt myself entering a dream, but at that moment when the dream started to stabilise, my brother woke me up!

Also, I think i need to practice more in keeping still and calm after waking up from a dream, I always find myself immedietly moving around a lot in bed after awakening, and then realising seconds too late that i had just had a dream. I guess I just need more practice at this sort of thing. I will be sure to continue reading tutorials...
