      Need Help...A lot

I have been practicing my dream recall and it is fine now but the thing is i can not control myself in my dreams. I would say it is like a first person view of a movie. If any of you could, please post some alarm times you recommend and some other ways to obtain lucidity in my dreams. The only source of stress in my life is my brother. We fight a lot. I have recently seen the movie Avatar and how Jake goes into the avatar's body through a dream, I found extremely interesting and made me want to control my dreams. A way to find if you are in a dream Dream Views said is to pinch yourself. Thing is, I cant. So, please help me!!!!!!

DILD stands for "Dream-Initiated Lucid Dream" and it's where you realize you're dreaming in the midst of a dream. Check out our tutorials section for more.

If you want to get some more formal teaching, we're putting together a Dreamviews Academy which will explain everything and perhaps event let you get a little experience in the various techniques. I'll be one of the students.

Your first LD will be a pretty neat experience, no doubt. It may not be an epic adventure (mine certainly wasn't) but as you get more experience things will get better!

      Lightning from fingertips... nice.

      All the best,
      Youssarian

Thanks for all of this info youssarian. Do you need to sign up for it? Can you give me more info about the Dreamviews Academy. I'm really looking forward to a lucid dream. Also, hahaha thanks for the comment about my goal! If you can offer anymore information please share.

^ Linkie for the Academy. I might be partially responsible for any system that may seem similar to having specialized majors.

There's a sign up thread there that you can post in. When it gets up and running, you'll fill out an application and you'll be matched with a professor who has experience that will benefit you. Who knows, maybe we'll get the same person.

You may have seen we have an adoption program. Well, that's gone in the crappers so the Academy is designed to replace it by making it more structured. I can hardly wait. (Actually, I'm probably experienced enough to be a professor but I've been rather inactive in my LD quests as of late so this refresher will help greatly.)

      All the best,
      Youssarian

Start with Reality Checks, then try MILD at night while lying in bed.. think of some mantras and practice them while going to sleep. You seem to still be in the very early stages, lucid dreaming takes BOTH time and patience. Check the tutorials on DILDs, MILDs and DEILDs.

Those are good places to start, the more you read the better. As far as setting alarms, that is only good if you're attempting a WILD/WBTB etc. Otherwise I'd just set it for the time you normally wake up. Practice your RC's and good luck and happy lucidity.
