      Dream Recall

I can remember almost every dream of the night (sometimes it's overwhelming to try and journal them all down) but i only remember the last few seconds of them, and when i try and backtrack the dream, i hit a wall and i can't remember anything past those last few moments when i'm about to wake up. how can i build up better recall?

When you say you only remember the first few seconds, is that when you wake up after the dream or the next morning?
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

It's normal to only be able to backtrack so far. Don't worry about it. Just remembering some of it puts you ahead of so many who can't remember their dreams at all.

first write make sure you consistently write your dreams down.

Also you can try and do some recall exercises in the waking world (which should help improve your dream recall).
For example what i do every night before falling asleep is, i try and recall my day backwards, and try to remember in detail everything i did through out the day; like a movie played backwards (after a couple of nights you'll become better at this, and you'll notice your overall recall improve).
I also have a somewhat complicated/unique reality check i do throughout the day, where in the process i try to remember what i was doing 10 mins earlier; I've found this to be really improve my recall. (if you want to know the whole reality check method just let me know and i'll try and explain)

There are other methods as well, im sure you can find them on here.

I really need to get back into dream jornaling again now that I'm on a late work schedule and my mornings don't come so early. I think a lot of the forgetting is the mind wanting to jump into the morning get-ready-for-work routine. Anyway, what worked best for me was to not worry about writiing anything too coherant in the mornining, just jotted down a few sentences which are usually the end part of the dream, and then just wrote down any off details I couls recall, like objects or dream characters or emotions Then I'd come back to it some evening and was usually able to get back into it a bit and tried to make some sense of it.
After doing that sporatically over a few years, I found reading over the collected dreams very interesting. I found I would return to many of the same dreamscapes over and over again and knew my way around in them pretty well.
