      Very New To This.

So I had the weirdest experience... for me anyway. I had never had a lucid dream and recalled it, until the other day. I can't stop thinking about it. I started reading about dream signs shortly after. It was a very interesting read.

but anyway, a little about my first lucid dream.

I was standing in my kitchen beside the table. There were a few bags of cookies, kind of an unusual amount, 3 or 4 bags. I don't usually buy premade cookies, I like to bake them. So this, too, was unusual. Right after I looked at them I started becoming lucid. I was telling myself that this has to be a dream, I am dreaming. Next I look over that the digital clock on my microwave, the I read as follows - 1:12 - It was normal, except the : and the 2 were blinking, the 1's were static. Thats when I knew for sure. I then woke up confused because I though maybe a was just awake even though I just knew I was probably dreaming. Weirdest thing ever for me.

I didn't even know this was a popular thing. any thoughts?

      Thanks for reading!

I tried to duplicate a lucid dream tonight, didn't work so well.
I went to sleep and tried to wake up later. I woke up later and went back to sleep telling myself I was going to remember my dream and that would lucid dream. as i began to sleep again... I woke up.

has this ever happened to anyone? man it kinda make me sad. there was no way to know that my waking was a dream.

Hey, welcome to Dreamviews! You should look at the Tutorials section. Especially look at the DEILD technique and WBTB (wake back to bed)(which is what it sounds like you were trying to do), but look at all of them. It's crazy having your first lucid, isn't it? Hope you stick around and read up on it.. you can learn to control it.

"there was no way to know that my waking was a dream."

That's what reality checks are for. Try pinching your nose shut and see if you can still breathe. If you can, then you're dreaming, False awakenings are a great way to induce a lucid.
