Cool newbie hello + narcolepsy + sex

      Hello!
      First,
I have recently been diagnosed with narcolepsy. Is anyone else here a narcoleptic?? It is known to cause extremely vivid dreams complete with hallucinations, paralysis etc. I am happy that I remember my dreams daily and hence have learned to recognize my dreaming state too! I consider myself lucky too if other people have had to work hard to train their mind to get here.

So I am new to this or any similar discussing of lucid dreaming & haven't really read too much here yet but hope to over time. I think I am more interested in hearing what other ppl are saying as opposed to books or "how-to" stuff. I seem to be doing enough lucid dreaming without researching techniques. And I find it fun to rely on random telltale signs that you're in a dream! A recent experience of mine resulted after, at my birthday party, I realized I had just said goodbye to this girl I would NEVER have invited. Haha..so childish. But it worked!
I haven't really told many people about my experiences.. I feel that I already share enough/too many of my normal - well extremely vivid but not in control - dream recollections. That and there will be resulting questions.. and until I came on here I really thought I was a freak with the prevalence of sex. I think I may hit one of those forums up before sleep tonight as I had a particularly promiscuous night last night (in my dreams of course)!

Anyone who wants to msg me or wants to chat to a newbie or for whatever reasons please do! look forward to exchanging some stories

Hey there! Welcome to DV, nice to have ya here.

I too prefer the words of DV members over books. I hope you find the tutorials useful, and feel free to ask any questions you may have if you can't find answers.

i'm a friend of the account holder with this name, he pointed me to this thread. i have narcolepsy too, along with several other sleeping disorders. i can't say for sure if there's enough consistency amongst narcoleptics regarding lucid dreaming, but my experience is very very similar to yours. before learning of lucid dreaming, all my life, i've had lucid dreams. not just an occasional thing; it's quite frequent. during the day (narcolepsy, as you know, is partially defined as falling into REM sleep right away during the day, skipping the first stages, causing dreams right away) i'll have amazingly real dreams that i can remember vividly for hours after waking. interesting to think of a relation between narcolepsy and lucidity! thank you for posting you got me thinking on a whole new level. i will be going to school for polysomnographic technology to be a sleep technition so i'm always trying to think of sleep disorders and how they affect different aspects of life (and the other way around). all i can say is enjoy the dreams

      Smile

      hi again
      Thanks for all the welcomes!

haha thanks for the warning lucid4sho! I'll deal with that if/when it happens.. closest is hotchoc by suggesting I keep a journal. which I actually may consider for some of the other cooler dreams.

and Bigpun... seem to recall reallife ok for now. phew

as for chickens?! don't get me started Jesus! my #1 recurring dreams haha soo funny you mentioned them! do you have a similar experience? or just coincidentally being too random.

That is interesting to hear velin&friend!
I kinda introduced myself all at once but was hoping to get some feedback or maybe have someone point me to a pre-existing thread re the narco etc..I'm kinda new to info about it and have never met anyone else with it so thanks for sharing! I've just been assuming it made sense to connect it with LD because vivid dreams seem likely to be the initial factor in people taking further interest.
