      Stratagem....

MOST dreams, possibly a LD should occur after I woke up at 4:40....... or should they?

Should I wake up and try to do a wild?
      How long would it take?

Or should I just stick with DILD/MILD?
And go right back to sleep after I wake up..

      Off to read

I have not had an LD yet, 1 week 3 days since I started, But still as ever, I'm motivated, enthusiastic, and up to it.
Asking for suggestion regarding the former.

Dreams can happen at anytime during sleep. I don't know when you go to bed, so I can't say for sure if most of them happen after 4:40.

The best technique to use is a personal thing. Myself, I am best at the techniques that fall under the DILD category - that is, where I become lucid when I'm already in the dream. This encompasses techniques like DILD itself, MILD, EILD, and others. You may be a better WILD'er. How long they take depends on you. If you can succeed by waiting 10 minutes then returning to bed then good, but if you need an hour then hey, whatever works for you. You'll have to experiment and figure it out.

Can you tell me one of your LD experiences? From top to bottom, summarize if you will, I just want to know the process of realizing you're dreaming, RCing, and becoming LUCID...

Like if you don't have your watch on you, and in the dream you want to do the RC, will it magically pop up, and how do you recognize your Dreamsigns?
I've seen a few DS here and there, but I don't seem to recognize them as I do when I'm awake, but then again my RCing are random, very few are directed at a DS

Eh... I'm more of a knowledge guy than an experience guy. Of my lucids (and I clocked in my 35th last night ) most of the time it's just a random realization that I'm dreaming. The sensation that accompanies me becoming aware is interesting. I guess I could say it's how it feels when you wake up and consciousness begins. Only three times did I ever do an RC in the dream because I noticed something wasn't right. And I have no stinking clue what my DS's are... yet.

In one of my earliest LD's, I was looking at the sky and saw two crescent moons. I looked to the left and saw a space shuttle with a module for the international space station. Then I look to the right and the moons are replaced by two darkened planets.

I say to myself, "That can't be right!" and try to whistle (one of my preferred forms of RC'ing). For some reason it's almost impossible to whistle in a dream - almost. I am unable to do so and realize that I'm dreaming. Then I tried getting freaky with a lady friend and ruined the dream...

In another one I was walking with a couple kids and said, "Oh by the way, let me do a reality check." When I see my pinky has sprouted a half-finger bud, I become lucid and begin trying to solidify the dream by feeling the environment around me.

Now, will the watch pop up? It may very well do so if you want it to. But my advise is to do more than one type of reality check at once. There are many that I can think of off the top of my head: see if you can read some text, see if a clock looks normal, see if your reflection is normal, count the fingers on your hand, try to whistle, try to put your finger through the palm of your other hand (I did that last night!), try to turn something electronic on, etc.

Oh and, when doing RC's, you should also do them when you enter a new room or environment as when you enter a dream, it's most likely not going to look exactly like your bedroom. Also do them whenever you wake up, so as to catch those pesky false awakenings; when something doesn't work properly, like a light that doesn't turn on when you hit the switch; and of course, when you see a DS.

Thanks a lot, I Do 5 different DS at best.... My watch, if im lazy and jotting down a quick RC, Ill just go with, Do I have my watch on? Yeah but im too lazy to check, How did I get here?, I look at my hands to check for abnormalities, I try to move my finger through my palm... need to cut those nails... it hurts and putting a finger between my nose and breathe, but I know I can do multiples, So I will do multiple ones, it doesnt have to be systematic since it's random... let give it a try.

And when im lazy ill just do 2 quick ones
Rcing,,, " am I dreaming?, Since I'm on DV...." light turns on and off, check
      Watch is normal, check
Finger wont go through palm, check
      My hand, check
Awareness, vision, got i got here, Check
      Breathing.... no, check

And when I'm doing a quick One ill just go for awareness check/ breathe

      Look good? Course it does.
      Grr lemon.

You mostly made sense right up to those last two lines. Then the lemon part lost me.

Yeah I feel this weird bitter sensation on my throat...

      Okay a revision of a DILD/MILD COmbo ...

DO RC......... Meditate..... Relax... fairly quick, Mantras....a few miscellaneous ones a few time... and sticking with my main one for the rest of my waking night... 2-15 min. visualize for couple min, back to mantras.... serious mantras...... A LOT OF mantra chants, and REALLY mean it..

Then sleep..... sounds good. WBTB would also help... but ill be quick.... meditate to inject thought... only in middle of night... mind needs to be calm through meditation when going to bed.

Yes im trying to convince myself im all green... and I am.
