      I had a lucid dream!

Yay! High fives all around, I just had my first lucid dream!

Last night I attempted to do a WBTB WILD. I laid down on my bed for 45 minutes with no success. Finally when I felt all was lost I turned over and tried to go to sleep. But I couldn't relax so I kept tossing and turning in bed trying to find a good position to get to sleep. After doing that for 10 or so minutes I turned one more time, but this felt different. I immediately realized my body had gone to sleep. I kept turning until I felt a falling sensation like I had rolled off my bed, but I hadn't. After that all connection between my mind and body evaporated. I found my self in a room of a house I didn't recognize, furnished with some of the stuff from my room. My mind flipped wildly with things to do and I got too excited... and woke up!

Conventionally speaking that would be a WILD, right?

The whole thing lasted no more then 30 seconds, but I'd say it was the best 30 seconds of my life. My next step, obviously, is to do it again, this time with more control.

Feel free to share your first lucid dream stories here.

Jeez, this is supposed to be my first LD, but I'm not disappointed. Thanks to my niece crying out loud in the middle of the night

      -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

      The Storage Room

My dream started in one of the oldest and creepiest part of our house, the storage room (located 5 feet below the ground, which means our storage room is underground). When I was still in high school, it used to be my bedroom.

I woke up in my old bed (false awakening, I guess? jeez, need to practice more RC's). While being semi-lucid (I just don't know the exact feeling, but I was like in between, trying to be lucid but couldn't get rid of the senses of my real body).

As I stood up on my feet, I saw these two persons, their whole body covered in darkness. Intrigued by not seeing their faces, I walked up to them. To my dismay, these persons were the people I hate the most in my entire life (at the same time failing again to realized that they're not supposed to be there, because I haven't seen them for years now).

      "Look who's here?", I said.

      DC # 1 - "Wake up dumb-ass, you're dreaming"

"I'd wake up after I kicked your asses out my house", I said with extreme anger.

DC # 2 - "You won't be able to do that, you have no power over us in your dreams".

(During the whole conversation, I failed to realize that I was dreaming, guess I was too overwhelmed with anger)

As soon I was going to react, the whole room was beginning to be flooded with water, out from nowhere.

As water fills up the room, I realized that I was breathing underwater.
      BAM! I became lucid (finally).

As I swam across the room to reach the door (there's a long flight of stairs before I could get out), it bursts open and a man holding a mop on his right hand was standing engulfed in brightness.

      Here's the hilarious part:

I climbed the stairs to talk the man, and as soon as I was going to open my mouth and start a conversation, the man shouted at me.

"Give me my month's salary or else, I'm quitting my job." (What the hell is he doing here anyway? I don't even know him, we didn't have house helpers since I was born)

"Sorry, I only got 50 pesos in my wallet", I said. (pesos is our country's currency, $1.00 - Php 50.00)

After that, I woke up because of the loud noise coming from the room next to mine.

"Damn, my niece is crying again, I've been lucid for only 5 minutes", I said to myself.

      Goals Accomplished:

Stay Lucid in a dream [x] - at least for a few minutes.
      Breathe Underwater [x]
Have at least 1 dream that night [x] - I rarely had enough sleep that night.

      I've read your topic...

Interesting dream though, I wish I could have one for that long.

I guess that puts us in the same boat. Except I do DILDs instead of WILDs. Ive practically memorized the dream control tutorial for next time

I tried a WILD once but it scared me have to death and I just went to sleep regular.

Anyhow, good luck with your control

Don't worry, you'll soon experience an LD that will last much longer. Besides, I think it was an unintentional DEILD because all this time I've been trying WILD with no success.

Good luck to both of us!

WILDS are not scary! I've never understood why people thought so. Admittedly I've never completed one but I have gone into partial sleep paralysis. If anything I would describe it as relaxing. I don't think it's the "wild ride" people give it credit for.

If you haven't been scared by WILD, you haven't had a night terror.

I think people fear the "HS" part during the SP. I've been hearing whispers, some audible, while others aren't, during I attemp WILD, especially during SP. Well, I love the feeling hearing those voices, makes me feel that I'm going to succeed

Imagine a combination of a false awakening, sleep paralysis, and a nightmare.

      That doesn't sound so scary.

I've been dreaming nightmares since I was a child and got used to it. What you just said will give a little bit more flavor and spice if ever I experience a "night terror"

That's what one would think, I'd suppose. However, similarly to waking in sleep paralysis, you have a big adrenaline rush during a night terror, and, consequently, do not think logically. You literally only feel fear. You may or may not have sleep paralysis. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_terror

You wouldn't think they'd be that scary, but in reality they'll scare the hell out of you.

Oh i see. After I read that article, I realized that's what I went through when I was still a child.

I'm not really sure if excitement is the right work. In fact when it happened I was just like "hey, it worked!" and when it ended I just sorta slipped out of it. I only realized the implications upon waking up.

      @morbid73: Interesting.
Apologies for hijacking your topic, SystemsLock. When you realize you are dreaming, try and take a moment to collect yourself. Hold your hands up and study them. Look around your surroundings, etc.
