      Hey

I was thinking today of lucid dreaming and how cool it is so i thought i might get back into trying to lucid dream as last time i did not succeed. I think i am kindof far from Lding because i baerly have any dream recall and i find myself in some dreams realizing how unusual something is but then forgetting about in one second. So.. i thought id join this forum to get some advice from some memberrs in lucid dreaming and hopefully have some Lds.

      Welcome to DreamViews!

I was in a similar situation last month. I'm not a very experienced lucid dreamer, but I can give you some tips for achieving your first couple lucid dreams.

      1. Start a Dream Journal (If you have not already) and lay in bed for a while after waking up to recall your dreams.

      2. Keep track of some objects or people that appear common in most of your dreams, and do a reality check whenever you see them.

      3. Look through the DV tutorial section and experiment with some of the techniques.

      Good luck!

Indeed, you should begin with what LucidApprentice advised you to do. Well, I just have a few additions.

1.) Dream Recall - before you go to sleep I suggest spending at least a minute familiarizing the view of the back of your closed eyelids (this will help you a lot since you'll be able to recognize if you just woke up from a dream by just seeing the back of your eyelids). When you woke up, lay still. This is to prevent disrupting your dream recall since moving (like rolling over or by just simply getting your journal) will chase away your dream recall. For a few minutes, imagine what your dream was like, starting from the last detail you remembered then going reverse (example, if you remembered that you were flying in your dream, ask yourself what happened before you flew).

2.) Reality Checks - during your waking life, have a habit of doing reality checks and observing your environment. Regularly doing so will greatly help you in LDing, in such a way that even you're dreaming, your very observant. Some of the popular reality checks are here.

      Hope it helps!

Thanks for all the help guys i thought i would report of my first night attempting lucidity. Well overall i didnt have a lucid dream but im still motivated to keep trying as in one night my dream recall has gotten alot better. Instead of ussualy remembering 1 or no dreams tonight i remembered 3 of my dreams and started my dream journal. I think this will be a fun project since i enjoy writing in my dream journal
