I have had this happen twice. While falling asleep, I seem to find my "self" in between being in my body and in the dream realm. It is a black void where there is nothing, I am only a spec of existence and am trying desperately to either move my body which I can somewhat still feel or scream for help to my room mate who is in the room sleeping next to me. It is very frightening. The first time there was a figure there electrocuting me and screaming obscenities. However, last night, there was no one and I was simply terrified to death I would be there forever! |

There is--though I do not know how there is or why there is--a sense of infinite peace and protection in the glittering hosts of heaven. There it must be, I think, in the vast and eternal laws of matter, and not in the daily cares and sins and troubles of men, that whatever is more than animal within us must find its solace and its hope. I hope, or I could not live.
