      Help a newbie with WILD

So I've been able to get into SP pretty easy and I see some vivid hallucinations as well as some sounds. First time I heard some chimes and beeps and the other night I heard whisper in my ear which almost freaked me out but I already knew hearing things was part of being in a deep SP so I didn't give up or loose my concentration. The problem I'm having is the transition from SP to the dream state. Last night I tried a WBTB for the first time and after about 20 mins or longer I hit SP hard. I was about to give up when I finally felt this immense wave hit me like I was hit by a rushing flow of invisible water if that makes sense. I knew I was in SP so I tried to just relax and let the hallucinations roll in again. To my surprise it was a lot harder to get into the initial SP and see any hallucinations from a WBTB. Anyways I was in SP a good 20 - 30 mins I think while seeing random things and at least 2 or 3 times I felt like I was starting to see a scene in my head of a warm sunny orange sunset accompanied by a beach scenery in hopes thats where I would end up in a dream. As it seemed to start to come closer to being colorful and real it was instantly gone. This is what keeps happening to me over and over and i'm curious if it's me knowing i'm about to go into a dream thats causing me to stop and not cross over?

I'm extremely new at this so I'm not getting frustrated or disappointed but actually more excited daily now as I feel i'm getting so close but yet still so far.

I was wondering if you experienced LDers out there could toss me some advice that might help with the transition.

      Thanks,
      Shoosh

A common problem I hear about is people not being able to transition from SP to the dream state. Personally, I never get SP and the only way I have been getting lucid is by getting comfortable and just letting my thoughts flow. Try that instead.

To be honest thats all I really have to do. The SP comes naturally for me, I don't really do anything except lay still and relax with my thoughts and it hits me fairly quickly. =/

Semi tried but not his full technique, i'll aim for that next. I feel that i've gotten it down pretty well to hit SP and relax but I don't really know what I can do from there to help me transition into a dream. That seems to be my brick wall right now.

Maybe the stimulation of SP is keeping your mind buzzing. Do you usually get good sleep?

I do actually, i'm fortunate enough to work out of my office at home so I sleep as much and as long as needed so i'm never really lacking a good nights sleep. But you have a good point, my mind is all over the place half the time I'm in SP because i'm thinking of so much. Most of the time I try to clear my mind but when I start seeing a bunch of hallucinations I keep thinking about too much shit and I start talking in my head which I hear is bad to do while trying to go from SP to a dream.
