I've always been interested in dreaming and dream interpretations, and I have attempted to lucidly dream a few times, though it's not really my main goal. I'm here because my recent dreams have been really out-there and a few times I've woken up with an unusually strong awareness of them and feeling that they were important and/or carrying a message worth decoding. So I've decided to keep a dream log and this site seemed like the perfect place to make a journal and possibly get opinions on interpretations. The main problem I've run into with dream interpretation online is dream "dictionaries" with precise meanings for every dream symbol. To me this is more ridiculous than saying every piece of literature uses the same symbols to represent the same things. I hope I can have some discussions or at least reflections without people telling me they know what my dreams mean better than I do because they looked them up. I'm hoping to post my first dream in the morning, so I'll see you all then.

Hi ipp, and welcome to DV. I understand what you mean when you say referencing "dream dictionaries" for accurate interpretations for ones dreams is not only ridiculous but frankly, utterly asinine. I've always been of the belief that the dreamer can interpret their own dreams (through self-exploration) 1,000 times better than any one else or any book that tries to do that for the dreamer.
I am one of the ones that thinks some dreams carry meaning and aren't simply incoherent and spontaneous neurons firing. But this is not my belief for all dreams.
While you're more than welcome to post your dream interpretations, understand that only you know the true answers as to what they mean. And again, to Dream Views.
