      What happened?!?!?!

      Okay, so I've been trying to have an LD for a while now. I've also been wanting to see if I could do SP. But no luck. Until last night. And I'm trying to figure out what happened...

      So right before I went to sleep I was thinking to myself that no matter what I dreamed, it would happen in the future, just as a joke. So I proceeded to have a dream about my car getting covered in snow, then it got wrecked, but then it turned into my moms car and switched locations and a semi was about to run into it when I said to myself, "Well no way this is gonna happen in real life." And at that moment I felt a weird sensation come over me, as if I was being pulled into the dream, perhaps about to go lucid, but then I got super excited and woke up, but not entirely, I felt a weird feeling shoot through my body and I heard s sort of rhythmic drumming and I felt tingles all through my body. I thought I had reached SP, because I couldn't move and it was just really weird.
      But since I was so excited that I had gotten into SP, I couldn't go back to sleep, so I forced my body to move, and proceeded to fall asleep. Nothing else happened that night.

      So I'm just wondering what happened. Was I about to go lucid? And then lost control and woke up in SP?

      If this happens again in the future what should I do to stay in the dream or go back in once in SP?

      That's what it sounds like to me, but Im not all that experienced. Maybe someone else will know better than I do.

      If this happens again in the future what should I do to stay in the dream or go back in once in SP?
      I'd say try to relax and stay in the dream, Usually it's excitement that kills everyones' first few lucid experiences. So it's pretty normal to get excited like that and wake up. It's all about learning to 'go with the flow' - not get too excited, and just let the dream take you where it will. Don't try to force anything.

      ... And if you do wake up, try to DEILD right back into it, and - failing that, then get up for a while and then do a WBTB.

      Maybe telling yourself what happens in the dream will happen IRL wasn't such a good idea.

      That's probably why you got paranoid... it created tension that wouldn't have been there otherwise. I wouldn't try that again... but that's just me.
