      I'm just another noob...SP question?

I've been snooping around this site for a while now haha and i've been looking at what techniques I could use to get lucid intentionally.
These past few months, I've been getting lucid naturally. They didn't last long because I was so surprised that I woke up almost every time. This hasn't happened to me since I was 13 and had nightmares constantly. After the night terrors stopped, I never became aware that I was lucid , and I didn't have very many vivid dreams in general. But that was 5 years ago.
I now have my dream recall back up and I'm recording my dreams in my dream journal. Lately I've been interested in Sleep Paralysis though. But I have some questions about SP:

When is it best to try SP?

When trying SP at night, can I just do it right away? Or do I need to sleep a couple hours first?

Can someone post or point me to a simplified Sleep Paralysis tutorial?

      Thanks for everything, guys! Later.
      J

It's greatly recommended that you sleep a couple of hours first before attempting to get into sleep paralysis, although it's is possible at the beginning of the night. Here's a link.

      Good luck to you.

Hey this is a late reply, but I came across this and thought id answer...From what I hear SP is easiest when you get some sleep (like hot chocolate said)
But one time I was attempting to do it at 5:00PM in my room. I'm not totally sure i was going into SP, but im almost positive. I felt tingling and my body went numb and I could barely move
I got scared of what the HI might be like so i stopped and got out of it. But you can really do it at any time.

Yes, you can WILD during afternoon naps effectively as well. It will only be difficult when you try it at the beginning of the night.
