      Hello there Dreamviewers

Hello, I go by Tysho here, I've always liked the idea of Lucid Dreaming but at first it was daunting and a bit scary I just came here to get answers and research the subject.

I had one quick question, when I first started trying this it took forever to be able to be able to dream lucid and when I did I couldn't control much at first and it made me feel a bit helpless, like I was a prisoner in my own dreams, would that be considered normal?

by the way, how are you?

You'll ahve to excuse my odd typing, I'm new to the whole talking about this and I didn't really know what to say.

Completely normal. Its not unusual to not have control when first becoming lucid. Lucidity and Dream Control are independent concepts. It is completely possible, and usual, for one to exist without the other.

And try not worry about how your posts look. Over time, you'll come to understand many of the terms and language used on the forum. So much so that it'll just come as naturally to you as dreaming soon will

Take a look around our General Dreaming and General Lucid Dreaming forums and get a feel for discussion, if you need some help getting used to it Or, head over to the Dream Control forum and get the best of both worlds; involved in discussion and learning some Dream Control tips
