      Hi n00b here

      Hi

well Ive had lucid dreams before, jump -> fly dreams where I can control my flight, since a kid - for a min or so, then I usu wake up [of course, right?]. Used to live in phoenix, and for some reason dreamed a lot when I lived there and they were pretty far out too - moved back to east coast, and barely dreaming at all...anyway - could be altitude idk. Ive also had time-distortions [slower, faster] but could only initiate, not stop them! heh. got overwhelmed by that...obe never really had one yet.

What else, um - lately not dreaming so much d/t noisy construction outside [otherwise rel. quiet neighborhood]. a few forward looking dreams where I visit a place I was in like a year ago in some dreams down to details, only happened a few times but was significant.

Im looking to really just learn and explore, perhaps expand my own imagination really - s/t I feel like my imagination is stuck, or sort of 'hovering'. i hear such amazing things like shared dreams, dream yoga which I think is really cool, and all kinds of things Ive never heard of before, and want to discover that a little more.

      Thx!

First off, welcome to DreamViews! If you are looking to learn, this is definitely the place. There is pretty much at least one person here who can answer any question you have. Just explore the forums a little, get familiar with them, and you should be good to go!

P.S. A little advice, you should use full words and sentences besides short forms, because people will get really annoyed and not answer you ^.^

I feel like im sort of in the same place as you. I've had lucid dreams in the past, but haven't had any success inducing them. One thing about this site that irritates me, is that many people dance around a real answer. I don't think anyone really wants to give straight answers, because then they could be wrong. I understand the lucid dreams are different for everybody, but it's hard to make progress without real tips. I've gotten a lot, but im really looking for an easy way to induce lucid dreams that doesn't involve drugs or scary visions. I mean this should be a fun thing right? I also have problems with my alarms not waking me up. I've been trying to wake up at incriments throughout the morning, because this is usually when i've had lucid dreams. How can i easily relay on my alarm clock? Just lookin for some answers.

actually, as far as alarm clocks I'm somewhat "fortunate" that I wake up before my alarm goes off. Always. For like, ever. Maybe thats good, maybe thats bad. I guess I just hate hearing it and having to hear that noisy thing. I do use it on saturdays because I go to my qigong/yoga group every saturday morning.

I'm contemplating getting the clock w/the zen bells on it - pricey but probly waaaay more peaceful than that 'five alarm' style waking up device. Actually right now I don't use an alarm clock, that is, Im fortunate my job doesnt start until afternoon [but unfortunate because construction is still hammering away]. Its temporary but while its happening you know it feels like it will never end.

Hey thanks for your response Keenya, nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you too! I've started sleeping with my phone on the pillow next to me. The alarm is working a lot better know. I found myself recently recalling only details of a dream, without the meat and potatoes. I didn't bother writing this down because i figured it would just look stupid anyway i sliced it. Are some elements of dreams worth recording?
