      Distracted!

So I've had a few LDs so far. Each time I am able to stay lucid for slightly longer, but I have the tendency to get easily distracted. One time I was flying around and saw a cool sculpture. I stopped to look at it and though, my dad would love this, and lost lucidity. Then the other day I was flying around above the clouds in a LD and I thought about a city above the clouds, so it appeared, and I started talking to some dwarfs or something and got distracted again, and lost it! Its frustrating. Any help?

When you're first getting used to dream control its worth reminding yourself you're still in a dream by doing a reality check every couple of minutes regardless of what else you're doing in the dream. This should keep the idea that its a dream in the forefront of your mind which will help to maintain lucidity.

It's easy to get distracted in your dreams Heaven knows my regular dreams jump all over the place! As you practice, you'll get better at staying lucid longer. As InfiniteMinds said, try doing RCs every now and then, or at the very least try to continually remind yourself that you're still dreaming. You're still dreaming. You're still in a dream.

Enjoy your dreams. Control and focus will come with patience and practice.

      See you around!
