      Newbie Question

Hello guys. I just joined recently, and knew about lucid dreaming recently. Now I've read that listening to binaural beats may help in lucid dreaming. Can someone explain to me what are binaural beats?

      Thanks in advance.

Binaural beats are a form of Brainwave Entrainment where you hear a tone of different frequency in each ear. Let's say 400 Hertz and 410 Hertz. Each ear hears a singular tone. Your brain detects the difference between these two frequencies - and 'produces' a 3rd tone of 10 Hertz inside the brain. As the brain continually processes this 3rd signal, it begins to emulate (or “entrain”) to that 10 Hz frequency.

This can be used to get the brain into particular states, like a deep focused realxation (like a meditative trance). Brainwave entrainment can defniately help improve your ability to get into a very relaxed and focused which is ideal for many lucid dream induction methods, but on the whole you still need to use one of these induction methods to actually trigger a lucid dream.

Yeah, InfiniteMinds summed it up. Binaural beats can be really helpful in relaxing you, but you'll need to know what to do once you're in a trance state/dreaming.
I use them pretty regularly either when I'm just meditating or if I'm trying to WILD or something.

There's tons of different kinds out there. Check out brainwave generator (http://www.bwgen.com/) - you can get tons of presets for different purposes. There's also iDoser (http://www.i-doser.com/).

      Hope that helps!

Alright one question. When picking which one to use, should you go straight to the one you want or should you gradually get there by using the different beats in order?

Just pick whichever one you want. You don't really have to 'build up' to a specific one.
