      Greetings :)

      Hi everyone. I've been lurking for awhile and decided that I would finally post.

      I started lucid dreaming back in the summer of 2002. As far back as I can remember I've always gotten these dreams where every once in awhile in my dream I would suddenly say (usually out loud) that I'm dreaming. However, after I realized that, the dream would just go on. The 'I'm dreaming' thing seemed to be more of a passing thought.
      One day after I had one of those dreams, I began to wonder if it was possible to control dreams. I did some searching on the 'net and came to the The Lucidity Institute's website. From there I found more information and promptly took a trip to Borders to get a copy of LaBerge's Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming.

      After several months of having no lucid dreams, my determination sort of dwindled. It stayed on the back of my mind until I found my interest again two years later. My first lucid dream came this past November. I was incredibly happy with myself. Then I began to look for Lucid dreaming groups and message boards so I could talk with other dreamers. I did a google search and found Dream Views

      I make it a priority to check this board every day to help myself keep the idea of becoming lucid stuck in my head, especially right before I go to bed. It's been very helpful so far, as just in these last two weeks I've had three lucid dreams.

      My only problem seems to be on finding some kind of trigger for my lucid dreaming. I don't remember too much detail from my dreams, so other than maybe a location (my dreams often take place in my old house) dreamsigns don't work too well for me. The very fist couple of lucid dreams I had always involved me becoming lucid when I looked at myself in a mirror. Though why that is, I don't have a clue. The last few lucids have just 'happened'. I did have my first (that I can remember) 'false awakening' last week. That was an exciting but bizarre experience (I 'woke up' and thought I was late for work ).

      I do have rather good dream recall and try to write in my journal as often as I can. I also read somewhere (maybe it was here) about entering other peoples dreams by thinking of the person and crossing a bridge into their dream. Does anyone know anything more about this? It sounded interesting and I gave my friend (who seems to be a natural LDer) the task. She tried it but said the bridge kept getting longer and longer until she woke up. Any thoughts on this?

      greetings

      [size=18]Greetings to you Revan

      That is great that you have finally decided to join. Hopefully we can determine a method that will work for you.
      You have too many similarities to me for me to help much. First I am always (90% of the time) at my house when I become lucid. And second I also don't even know how I became lucid most of the time.
      My life has very lttle fantasy and a lot of realism. So on the occasions I do become lucid it stems from being aware that something is not right in the dream, triggering my lucidity. WILDS rarely work.
      I can point you to the Tutorials and hope you find something in there that may help. You have most likely already looked at them so I encourage you ask a lot of questions, for there are many experienced Lders in the Forum.

      He Revan! I like your avatar, btw

      I'm glad you joined us here at DV! How often would you say you manage to get lucid? What you've been doing sounds like what we refer to as WBTB (Wake Back To Bed) in case you want to look further into that. As for Dream Sharing, there's been some talk about it, currently in the Research Team Forum if you wanted to look into that. I'm not sure where I stand on the possibility of it being possible, but I'm not closed to the idea. If you make any progress (or not, for that matter) feel free to share your results with us

      Anyway, I hope you enjoy yourself here and if you need anything, feel free to ask.

      (I so don't sound like myself today for some reason... stress + schedule...)
