Writing is also one of my own hobbies, so I know what you're going through.
First tip: read. The others have said it, but reading gives you inspiration and a form of passive experience (in sentence building, pacing, characterization etc.) You don't have to read mountains of books, but it will definitely get you started. Read the kind of stuff that you might like to write.
Second tip: you're working on lucid dreaming. Ergo, you probably have a dream journal. The more detailed that one gets, the more you can just use stuff that happens in your dreams to write short stories. Sooner or later, you may have a dream that's awesome enough to turn into its own full fledged story. I've had a number of those dreams myself. A sub-tip I can give you is: try to use the best style and grammar you're capable of.
I'm not going to share any of my story ideas. You can think up your own. It's not that hard to do. I take it you're not planning on actually publishing what you write, right? Because if that's the case (as it is with me), you can write basically anything and no matter how crappy it is, it won't matter as long as you feel a sense of accomplishment. That's the reward I'm always after. But to get that, you have to think of your own stuff. You can be inspired by others, but don't just use their ideas as if they were your own. Trust me, it won't feel the same.
