Why do people say that dandelions are weeds, I hate that. They are so pretty even when dead. What makes a rose so nice,. they have thorns. I feel sorry for it, and they remind me of myself. Dandelions may be used in many recipes, for beverages, omelets, salads, juices, gelatins, quiche, soup, pasta dishes, breads, pizza, gravy, dips, spreads, pies, cookies, jelly’s, waffles, fritters, wind, pudding, and even ice cream! All parts of the dandelion are useable. The leaves for greens, the blossoms for wines and jelly, and the roots for coffee.

Can you make muffins out of them? But really jokes aside... really good information. A lot of vegetation is not used as it should be or could be anymore. I am sure many things we think as weeds can be used as food, medically or for poison. Interesting subject!

Well, pansies are edible, too! Granted they have to be specially grown, but still. I remember the first time I ate one was on some left-over wedding cake. They're actually fairly flavorless, but that may have been because they were on a sweet confection I like dandelions, but not when they're accompanied by a patch of real weeds. -Amé

My father made a bunch of dandelion wine once, after reading Ray Bradbury's 'Dandelion Wine' . I gathered the dandelions for it, and that does take a lot of dandelions. I thought I'd never have to quit picking them! My grandmother always told us that dandelions were edible. I never cared for the taste raw, but I like them cooked and put in a salad. Anyway, I think they are beautiful flowers. They practically hold the essence of summer.......
