Think of your attention span as a muscle. If you use it, it gets bigger and stronger. If you don't, it atrophies. So what this comes down to is, practice. Don't compare yourself to others; only compare to yourself. If you made progress, then that's great, no matter how far your final goal is.
One specific thing you could try is to meditate. If not that, then even just practice doing some task until you can't contain yourself and you get bored and move on to some other random thing. And every time you practice, write down how long it took. Compete with yourself. I would even say, add it to an excel spreadsheet, and plot out the progress, so you can really see how things are going.
