also @ Melanieb, that happened to me too >_> it was some weird glitch...
HAHAHA was gonna say, that shit fucking expensive man.
uhhhh.... yeah, as others said.... that is way too much. Seriously it is toxic for your body if you take over 30 grams per day.
Do not detonate with TNT?
So how come Arnold Schwarzenegger ate 30 to 50 grams of protein every 3 hours?
I don't even know what to think, I've read so much contradicting shit about it.
113.3980925 grams equals one quarter pound. Think of a cheeseburger patty at a fast food restaurant.
Of course, a lot of that is water, but it helps the mind wrap itself around the problem.
A quarter pound hamburger patty has 21.08 grams of protein in it, approximately.
So, 50 grams of protein would be like eating the meat in a Big Mac.
Does that help put it into perspective?
:P *shudders*
You need to eat alot of protein if you are trying to build muscle. But you have to work your way up to more and more I guess. Your body can only handle so much at first and you will be sore and worn out but if you keep at it you build endurance and can work out more and take in more protein >_>
That's not a very good way to put it.
They use pure whey protein, no fat or sugar etc.
More likely he just didn't want to say he took steroids haha
Nah, I'm sure people have taken more than 400g a day. But it doesn't mean it's healthy.
I would respond more but I don't want to go off-topic.
My cute friend at the meat counter.

Yikes, that's a really bad picture. Next time I go in I'll ask him to pose for one, and smile. :)
Nah he looks good.
You should go up one day and ask for chicken. And when he asks "light or dark meat?" you smile and say "I like my meat like I like my men."
Then take a picture right then, at the moment of dawning understanding. Hehe I dare you to.
*ROFL!*
He's...a good friend. I'm not sure I could.
I bet he'd smile.
It really is hard to get a good pic with a phone and those awful lights. I'll do better.
He's single, too!
I bet he'd be great!
Honestly...I'd just be happy to chill and drink a couple beers with him, and chat about stuff.

Went out with my cousin on Sunday for an autograph session but I didn't get any albums signed because my cousin wasn't in a mood to buy albums.
Spoiler for Autograph Session:
How did you manage to catch a praying mantis?
shouldn't a praying mantis be free in its natural habitat rather then kept as someones "pet" ?
Bet it lives longer as a pet than in the wild......and aren't we all striving to survive? :P Gotta give him some female action though.
much rather die free in the wild than live being someones pet :cheeky:
When I look out my bedroom window, I see... the building where I work. (I live in a square... NOT awesome)
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-M9pxb9H8J3...reamwindow.jpg
Dun dun dun.....how do we know we're not someone's pet in a gigantic greenhouse? :O:O
The illusion of freedom is as good as freedom. Until you know. So long as the pet is in a sufficiently large environment, then it's essentially free. And lives.
Does sometimes annoy me a bit that I can't get off this planet though.... but I can still dream. :P

Yes, everyone says that, and I do enjoy going home on my lunch break, as well taking the occasional lunch break shower, or cat nap, or making lunch without bringing it to work.
But... People at my work can see directly into my apartment at night time.
And taking sick days is awkward, because if I decide to go for a walk to the store (even if it's to get medication) It's weird running into coworkers when I'm all shitty looking.
AND: How the heck am I supposed to get out of there? I don't want to work there forever, but it's not like I can take the day off, throw on some interview clothes and run out the door without SOMEONE seeing me.
It's a pain. Plus, like I said my world is a square block. I miss the transitioning between places. I truly believe the in-between is where a lot of dust settles, and subconscious bits fit into their rightful places....
AND FINALLY: it entices me to J-walk more often. Hence, upping my odds of being hit by a car. (And this has happened btw.. someone reverse parked into me..lol )
-end of rant-
muahahahahaha.
And mishalaneous, I get out a lot. Since I work from home, I never see anyone else I work with (they mostly live in other states anyway), so I randomly just up and go wherever the hell I want in the middle of the day. I can't imagine working in an office right across the street from me : / Need at least a quarter mile buffer.
I wouldn't mind working from home... I hear people are more productive when Working outside of an office environment.
mishalaneous, what's your job? the whole square thing seems weird, never heard of that before

Well said.
And to add on, there is no saying that freedom will be better. If I strip you off from your internet, computer, handphone and music and throw you back into the wild, do you think you can survive? No there'll be no kitchen too. Just like the cavemen era. Like how we used to live. Now that is true freedom, technology is trapping us. :mwahaha:
I grew up with little technology compared to how I live now.
I spent my days outside, playing in the woods, learning about wildlife first hand.
The TV had four channels on it before cable TV emerged. Five if you count the Spanish channel, though reception wasn't always clear.
I spent some of my time recently away from the computer, being sick. It was nice.
I could easily live without any of this technology, though I might miss toilet paper. Still, if I had to survive, I could do it.
There are some benefits to being older than 20 in this era.
I live in a square block. (As in, I do not NEED to leave the block if I don't want to) Whenever I do leave... I do so with the intention of expanding my perimeters:p
I work in a criminal law office. The square thing is a figure of speech.. Work has nothing to do with squares... :p
A square city block, an area defined by four surrounding streets.
Does that help, sefalik?
I'm 24 and have never NOT had a computer. I love technology. I think it's awesome. I grew up learning QBasic, DOS, linux, BBSs (yes, the real ones where you dial up someone else's modem.. none of this internet shenanigans). Basically, it's like learning about nature and such first hand, but my world was all about digital 1s and 0s, and learning how they -truly- work from an engineering standpoint.
I find it to be just as romantic as nature. I would be trapped without it. Trapped in a place where I was never intended to be.
People always say, "could you survive in the wild on your own?" I follow up with, "could you reprogram the anti-replicator gun to bypass their communications encryption before they overwhelm and destroy the entire human race?" Or even better - "Could you use this simple chemistry set to determine which of these pools of water -won't- kill you? They all look, smell, and taste exactly the same, and there are no animals within miles of you to test it first."
The nerd is full of survival skills, just a very different set.
Carrot's life as a cavemen.
Eat. Sleep. Play with rocks. Shit. Hunting. Dance. Random singing. Sightseeing everyday. Killing insects. Find a mate.
Yup, that's about it. I don't think I need anything more than that to survive. But technology's already here, what's done been done. So I guess we all just live with it. :( I don't deny the improvements and knowledge that advancement has brought us. But if I were to die in cavemen era because of my ignorance, that would be my fate, or how the cavemen would have think so too.
That's funny right there.
I doubt the usefulness of this survival skill in the present day world, and considering where the information was learned I doubt it would apply to any future scenario.
Come out with me into the real world sometime. I'll teach you to build a shelter and shop with cash. :)
No, I don't have one of those. My house is paid for.
Happy to amuse. I don't get why this is so funny though.
I was making a stargate reference for funsies.
Trust me, I have plenty of outdoor survival skills. I'm was really talkin up my lack of them before, but I pretty much spent every summer of my upbringing through high school hiking, canoeing, and camping backpack style. Built a few shelters, but can't say I ever had to forage for food in any way. I've also tent camped in the dead of winter in northern minnesota about ten times. Don't know too many people that have done that. Somewhere around my freshman year in college I finally admitted to myself that I really disliked all of that and loved the hell out of my creature comforts.
I was simply trying to argue the point that in different ecosystems, different skill sets are considered necessary for survival. And why do people get off on calling it the "real" world. It's just as real as the world sitting in front of me on my computer. It's just different. So what if I couldn't survive if someone dropped me off in the middle of the desert. I don't expect that to happen in my lifetime barring any awful circumstances. But let's face it, if someone wants to kill you, they'll kill you. If you're an expert desert survivalist, they may decide to just... put a bullet in your head instead. People consider the most trivial things to be survival skills. Anyone who makes it to the age of 50 employed perfectly acceptable survival skills throughout their life. In some cases you could say the ability to mooch is a survival skill (there are many organisms in nature that do this...), the ability to get a job in a down market is a survival skill, the ability to find a partner that offsets you nicely is a survival skill, the ability to communicate is a survival skill, the ability to -survive no matter what- is a survival skill. Basically what I'm trying to say is that just because you can build a shelter in the woods doesn't mean you have better survival skills than a shut in computer nerd - especially in metropolitan united states in modern time.
I'd consider the sly bastard than can swindle his way to the top of the economy to have the best survival skills in that sense. Everyone is very well in tune with their ecosystem and practice survival accordingly.
I have no survival skills, 'cept instinct, but I'll still end up in the woods one day.
All of the good places are already taken. Do you think if you -really- wanted to remove yourself from society you could build a house in the woods somewhere where no one would find you for ... let's say 20 years. You'd have to get pretty damn remote to not have someone stumble upon your whereabouts through happenstance. There are enough people traveling away from the beaten path to find you by accident. When there are 7 billion people on the planet, it's hard to avoid them all.
http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m2nekv2Cdm1qaxtuw.jpg
....seriously, if only there was a good alternative.
Islands are great but a really remote place in Alaska or Canada might also be good.
Same with the forests in Russia.
The real trick is hiding your habitation from the air, being close enough to fresh water for it to be practical, and far enough from other people to reduce chances of random encounters.
I really need to post some of my recent pictures. Maybe tomorrow.

^ Why is that keyboard in that awkward position? o.o
Btw nice organized street :D
I use it on both sides of the desk and had just shoved it over from the other side without positioning it where I'd actually use it:
Spoiler for in position:
It's a secondary keyboard (the ergonomics are nice, but the wireless connection isn't super reliable for fast typing or gaming). Pretty much the only keys I use on it in that position are Ctrl, Shift, Enter, the Home/Delete block and the arrow keys. Media controls and zoom come in handy sometimes, too. It's weird, but it lets me vary my posture and movements a bit more when I'm working on the PC all day.
Thanks, I, um... organized it myself >_>
It's a pretty sweet location--tucked away and quiet, but two blocks from a major street and tons of stuff within walking/cycling distance.
I have several friends who own houseboats. My good friend Marsha recently got one and I got to hang out with her on it for the first time yesterday. Also yesterday our kayaking group had a meeting on the houseboat of another friend where we were planning a trip in June to go out on the lake on a houseboat of yet another friend. I wish I had a houseboat, but I guess the next best thing is to have friends with houseboats.

my fortune!
^Woah... that goes against like everything I believe in. I'd be so mad if I got that fortune lol.
I don't even know what the fuck that's supposed to mean. How could you even be offended by that?
Maybe something like: Be grateful that you possess little X, and don't fret that you can't have the oh so great and unreachable Y.
It's basically saying that you should appreciate what you have, however small it may be, and not go chasing after things that are out of your reach.
It can have a positive or a negative message, depending on how you look at it. You could interpret it as meaning that you should settle with what you've got, and not bother striving for impossible dreams. Or it could be viewed as saying that we should be grateful for the little joys in life, and not go chasing after things we think will make us happier.
I think it's sexual innuendo.
I think it's just trying to say that the sum of something's parts are greater than the whole. So much so that even one part is worth more than the whole, going as far as to imply that even considering the functions the whole is capable of (flight, since the bird is in the air) somehow still isn't worth as much.
my initial thought was that it's saying a dead bird is better than a living bird...

Wat? No! In your album underneath each pic there's a list of different kinds of link code. You want "Img Code." Just copy what's in the box and paste it straight into DV (though in spoiler tags if you're like me and can't be arsed to resize your pics). You'll find all those links on the main page for each individual pic, too, but not on the page right after you upload--you'll have to click the pic or continue to your albums.
Thanks, both ways worked :)
That "Happy Pup" seems like an Angry Pup to me xD
Some cycling about today took me through a weird sort of marshland wilderness reserve with a ring of woods around it, and then by Baldwin Wallace college on the way back.

Sorry, I'm too lazy to resize it. This is my new Pekin duck.
Soooooo cute. I want one.
Just find a couple of wild Pekin ducks and take their eggs. That's what we did. =p The Pekin ducks laid the eggs on our patio--no nest, and the female didn't sit on them either. The first egg was crushed by something after a day of laying outside, so we saved the second two. We learned that Pekin ducks are notorious for neglecting their eggs until the eggs are ready to hatch.
Sadly, we have no plans of keeping these ducks permanently. We'll be releasing them into a canal near my house once they mature.
XD That's the first thing I thought of too when I heard the name. These ducks are originally from China though, and they were popular in Beijing (Peking) for their meat and eggs. I assume that's where their name comes from.
That Duck is much cuter than on the first picture you posted just after the hatch xD
