I have been teasing my brother about his thinning hair, but I think he is starting to feel bad about it and I feel baaaadddd about giving him a hard time about it. Is this really something that men get offended about? Now, I have to make it up to him. Any ideas? other than buying him a bottle of Jack Daniels? |

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the law, love under will.
If you tell a man he's a no good, tale-tattling, sneaking snip-snap thin haired ape, they'll take it to a varying offense, depending on their personality and mood. If he has good self-confidence, a sense of humor, and is in a good mood, he'll take it well. If he doesn't or isn't, he won't. |

If it's not something he's comfortable with yet, then he's going to be offended. It's like making fun of someone for being overweight when you know they're self-conscious about it. |

Some people care, some don't. To make fun, tease, or joke about someone's body parts can harm ones self esteem. Refraining from it helps you and others feel body positive. An apology would certainly be nice. If your brother worries about his thin hair then maybe you can encourage him to talk to his doctor about his options, such as a prescription, an OTC treatment, or a sensitive hair cleansing regimen. If you wanted to buy him something to prevent his thinning, hair loss then try sites like Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database which list medicines for conditions like alopecia. |

Thank you for this. I did apologize and even baked him his favorite pie. I don't want him to do anything about his hair - his wife does not complain about it, I just tease him about it, but he is still a good looking man even if his forehead is so shiny. |
