      What is this topic about?

It's about how NOT to name a thread.

This thread was named very poorly. I did not tell you what the thread was going to be about in the subject line. Instead, I filled it in with something of no meaning. Looking only at the subject of this thread, you have absolutely no idea what it's going to be about. It could be about flying cheese. Maybe I just invented a recipe and started offering it for free to members of the forum, and came here to announce it.

I'm going to make this sound as business-like as possible.

      Good thread titles are SMAC
      Specific
      Meaningful
      Accomodating
      Clear

      Bad thread titles are GEAM
      Generic
      Empty
      Aimless
      Mysterious

What, your CEO doesn't speak in whimsical acronyms?

How about re-arranging the Bad Thread title acronym to GAME or MAGE? It would make it easier to remember being that you could associate it with a real word.

I tried to order them so they read like opposites ("clear" as opposed to "mysterious"). And the bad one should sound really low and slimey.

      You know, business-like.
