Off to spend time with LaBerge!

Next week (Nov 11th) I'll be on my way to Hawaii to attend a 10 day dream camp hosted by EWOLD's Ph.D. Stephen LaBerge! No amount of exclamation points or smileys can describe the excitement and anticipation I have for this trip.

I have learned so much from Dream Views alone that I expect there will be information (mostly in general and techniques) that I will already be familiar with. However, I do know that we will have the opportunity to use the Nova Dreamer and also take part in an "experiment" he's currently developing .

I thought it would be important to announce this trip because I will be taking my laptop with me and will try to give LaBerge a little tour of our site here (if he isn't familiar with it already ) should I get the opportunity. So, if you should see me logged on between the 11th - 21st, I'll expect you all to be at your best behavior .

      Aloha!

In the scientific disciplines applied to LD, LaBerge is the best in class.

      Good dreaming!

      Hi Joe,

Great to hear you will be meeting him. Just one favour, can you ask Stepen LaBerge in person when the New Nova Dreamer will be released.

      found this on lucidity forum;

      Aloha all!

sorry I haven't been on untill now - been having difficulties getting on to the internet here. I gotta be brief but I'll be back on later hopefully.

Things were off to a slow start for me so far (lost luggage, no cell reception, no LDs yet) but things are starting to get back on track. Went to beach yesterday and had quite an interesting time. Beach, pool and jacuzzy here are all clothing optional ----

Anyway, LaBerge and his staff are great, but what's even better is the mix of people in the group - I can't descrribe how awesome it is to interact with people so passionate and knowledgable in lucid dreams, physiology, psychology, metaphisics, and all sorts of other kinds of fields. A wonderful mix of people and all are friendly as hell and very approachable. As far as nationalities, we got British, Demnark, Australian, and Vienna (Austria?) - others are from PA, Chicago, DC, California and even a couple locals. Very much like the diversity here on DV!

I gotta run now, but I've been trying to document every day's events so maybe I'll post the diary some time..

Hey Joe, glad you are enjoying the trip. If you haven't already done it, buy this book called, Oahu Revealed. There is so much awesome info in it and its got lots of pictures to keep people like me entertained.

Hey all, well... I'm already checked out and now just going through the slow, painful countdown untill my ride to the airport

I put together a batch of some of the photos I got. I hope this works, I never posted pics on an online album like this before.

More to come once I optimize them.

Ok, I did ask and it looks like they're just looking for a manufacturer and distributor. The Lucididty Institute wants to focus primarily on research and not so much on marketing the product. I did meet someone there who sells the current version of it, I think it's a limited supply, however.

Heh, well, what can I say. He's a pretty enthusiastic and animated person. At least when it comes to his lectures. We covered lots of different aspects, not just dreaming. There was talk about perception and how we view the world. Discussions on what the "real" world is and how it relates to our "dream" world. Some samples of how our mind percieves images and sound - optical and auditory illustions. Watched some movies, one called REM Movements, Existenz, Groundhog Day, The Last Wave and some other stuff like a NOVA special they did on Russel Targ (the guest speaker).

That's pretty kool, I signed up for a silent retreat in the spring, a religous one, but I plan to focus on dreaming. I was just wondering how much did this retreat cost????

      dream camp

I met Tornado_joe at the dream camp. He gave everyone cards with this web site URL. So I thought I'd check it out.

Hawaii is beautiful. Especially if you're going there from a cold city in November....

Normally I have one lucid dream every three to four months. At the workshop I had 2 during the week, so it helped me with some techniques (especially MILD).

I think Stephen Laberge does about 2 workshops a year. Check out the cost, location, time, etc at his site http://www.lucidity.com/

Woah...costs a lot of money. Id rather rent a cabin, or something, with some friends and do it ourselves. But if you have the money, more power to you.

That is a nice chunk of change, but not really anymore than a vacation. I'm a senior in high school, maybe after college I'll give it a go. It be worth it.

Thanks for stopping by Asclepius. You are welcome to look around and participate. It's always nice when experienced Lucid Dreamers stop by.

If you have a chance, would you do me a favor and make a post in this thread? http://dreamviews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10653

I would love to attend one of the workshops, or even to stop by the lab. Where is it Palo Alto? That is going to be one of my quests next time I am on the west coast.
