      Would you forgive??

      A'hoy hoy,

Well, the other night my girlfriend came to me to tell me she had cheated on me.

We had gone out before from Octoberish till December and now recently got back together. Her story on cheating is that the last time we went out, she was talking to a guy, and then the day before she broke up with me, she got together with this guy and fooled around with him. Then broke up with me after fooling around with the guy.

She did eventually break up with this guy after he left her alone with no calls for about two weeks and then, just so recently, came back to me. She says she didn't know what she had with me till she lost me and was with this other guy. She says that when she was with him, she felt dirty, guilty and wishing he was me really.

She was very upset and teary eyed.

So.. we had a long talk and smoothed things out for now. We're still together.

      Would you forgive?

O'nus...i know you. you are going to forgive her no matter what anyone says here.

In my shoes i would give her a second chance if i lover her, no more. and be sure she knows.

But if you need to talk about it again, as we have, you know where to fine me, love you man .

Id say no probably, whats to say she wont do it again? but then again it wasnt a really long-term relationship you had so maybe give her a second chance if you really like her.

Me to, this is why I forgave her. She swore to me she'd never do it again and I believe she won't (but of course [i]if[/if] she does.. it's over).

I was just wondering if others thought I was being too forgiving or.. just their thoughts.

      Thanks

"To err is human; to forgive divine." We all make mistakes. If I cared a lot about her, then I would have forgiven her. Conversely, however, I'm not someone who would hope for a second chance myself. I simply mean I would never want to think I could screw up that badly and be given one more chance, ya know? I screw up lots of stuff, but if I could actually do something like that, I'd have pretty hard time forgiving myself.

forgive all the way...it was just a mistake on her part, its only if she constantly did this that i would even suggest maybe not forgiving her...

The funny thing is, that if a woman cheated on a man, he forgives, but if a MAN cheats on a woman, she gets all emotional, and breaks up with him.

Ok this is generalizing, in most cases. But i see this alot.

Forgive. It's sounds like it was an isolated incident and that she was sorry. Forgiveness is not the same as trust though.
Forgiveness takes an instant, it takes a little while longer to build up trust, and for the pain to go away

I would give her a second chance, as others have stated people make mistakes, the thing is to learn from them and not repeat them.
I know couples who have gone through the same thing and the experiance made them stronger in the end.
