Thread: Suggest a name

Sorry, I wish I could help. However, my naming skills are not so great. I will keep thinking of things.

Here are some ideas:

ESOS (Electromagnetically Secure Operating System)- this is if you wanted to go simple, using a pure acronym.

EMOAT (pronuonced like emote) - like an elecromagnetic moat (a barrier of water used in medievel times to help fortify a castle)

...or if you wanted to be different you could go with:

Summanus (the Roman god of night thunder) - I think the name just sounds strong and him being the god of nocturnal thunder correlates with the whole electromagnetic theme.

I like "emoat". I also liked "emma" and "cledus". Since I am looking for a very rare name, I will stick with emoat.

I am very weak in drawing. Can anyone help me in logo creation ? A simple pic of castle or something else interesting will do.

I like efosse when Tony suggested it. It conjured up images of a cute little girl all teched out to look bad ass. But a logo like that might be a bit to elaborate for your purpose.

I like the castle (or castle tower) idea as a logo. If I get some time, in the near future, I'll see what I can come up with.

Hang on a second here, Korothism. Aren't you the guy that made that thing that can remotely display the image on a computer screen from the electromagnetic field it emits? And now you're making an OS that will be immune to that. I'm starting to second guess weather or not such a device even exists. Might be a hoax, intended to scare people into worrying about a problem that doesn't exist, then creating a product that will counteract it (cough, Y2K, cough).

Or maybe it does exist, in which case please kindly ignore what I just wrote.

Either way, it's a clever (if not fiendishly underhanded, in the case of it being a hoax) idea.

The letter E, stylized to resemble a castle (in case that wasn't clear). The ring would of course be the moat. My favorites are 3 and 4. I think I will make the borders of the E thicker, but you get the basic idea. What do you think?

HaHa. See this is only an academic project. The successful completion of the project can give me a good job. I meant that much only. I am not going to distribute the OS commercially. I have given enough links in that previous thread for you to explore. Not talking about that anymore.

That hardware was our miniproject. In the miniproject we proved that Van eck phreaking is not a myth. And in the main project we are developing tools to oppose this type of hacking, especially for our country. USA and many other nations have already developed similar tools. Now its our turn. Wonderful. The moat concept around the castle rocked. My favorite is the first one. Since it is solid and has the look of a castle also. I think adding some shades can improve the look.

Yeah, I didn't have you pegged as the type to pull a stunt like that, but you never know. I'll tweak the logo later when I get bored. Glad you liked it.
