      Stupid question...

What's the difference between "prologue" and "prelude"?

I'm under the impression that a "prologue" is the pre-beginning of a novel or story (and possibly a manga, too?) and "prelude" is the pre-beginning of some kind of media, like a video game or movie. So far no definition I've seen has made it clear.

So what's the difference? Lucius and I need to know!

Prelude comes from the beginning of media, poems, and sometimes books.

A prologue usually intros Drama, and can include books, plays, and sometimes media.

      Hope that helps.

Bits from Aphius' dictionary on his desk -
      Prologue:
      1. The introductory part of a play, book, etc.
      2. Any act or event which introduces

      Prelude:
      1. Something which introduces or prepares for a later more important event.

From what I can tell, a prologue seems to be used more for books and plays, and a prelude is for other stuff.
I think like if you're referring to an event that is one of many to come, you could say that event was a prelude of things to come.
