Short Survey - Patterns in UserIDs (need help)

Hi, My name is Nitin. I am a graduate student at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). I am conducting a few minutes short survey on "Patterns in Userids" for my research project. We want to study patterns in usernames or userids created by people when they register on different websites, etc. I would be really thankful if you could participate in this short survey. Er, I just took a quick look at the survey and am a little uneasy about having all of my user-id's from the different websites I visit correllated together in a database somewhere. I purposefully use different id's so people cannot follow me between websites as well as to protect my personal information. I think I'll pass on this one.

Guys, this has scam written all over it. You give them your username, they search for it, find the internet forum, look up your email, and then send you a bunch of shit. I wouldn't do anything if I were any of you. Mods should delete this thread.

Me too, I have different names everywhere I go.

I keep similar ID's for similar websites, but change them up when I register for something different, i.e. stupid internet surveys.
