Remember a while ago there were a bunch of post about how google.com is in on-line users list. Well now it's yahoo.com. I just looked at the on-line users list, and yahoo.com is there along with a bunch of users. What's going on? This is really freaking me out... Is it a sign of the apocalypse or something?

But what would yahoo or google want to advertize here for? A lot of us got here using yahoo or google to search for Lucid Dreaming. Anyways, who doesn't know about yahoo/google. They don't exactly need an advertizement here. I just don't get it.

This has been explained several times since the new forum came out.

I can't find the threads right now, but they are called "spiders" that go through the site and catagorize posts for the search engine - so when someone types in something to Google or Yahoo or MSN or whatever, results for this site come up. So they are actually a good thing.

It was explained better in the other threads but that's all I got.

Yeah, a lot of threads have been made about this already if you looked in the Feedback forum. Burns pretty much got it it one - these companies, MSN, Google, whatever, all spider websites, meaning that they load every page they can get to and add it to their database so other uses can search us up later (in simple terms). I didn't expect that showing them in the user list when they were online would cause such a case of mass hysteria, but apparently some people are easily excited.

Oh. Makes sense. Yeah, i don't really visit the feedback forum at all, and mostly stick to the dreaming forums, so sorry about repeating a topic. My bad.
