      Thumbs up

First of all lets take a look at what each side does:

      Left Brain
      • Logical
      • Sequential
      • Rational
      • Analytical
      • Objective
      • Looks at parts
      Right Brain
      • Random
      • Intuitive
      • Holistic
      • Synthesizing
      • Subjective
      • Looks at wholes
      Which side are you?

      Take a test:
      Test #1
      Test #2

I personally am both. I took both tests. The first one I came up right an answer of "right" then I changed my answer to "when watching a movie which side do you prefer?" to the opposite and I got "left". I actually prefer the middle but it was not a choice. I counted up 7 L's and 7 R's for the 2nd test.
I learn math with ease, play the piano, and some people say I can draw.

Remember, for test#2 you only write down the number that applies to you, then use the key to see if its L or R. (right or left)

Uh oh, turns out when I accidentaly hit the back button on my mouse I lost the poll and cannot add it after the fact!

I'm really split between the two. I have a really weird mind, will and personality.

      The first test I got:
      7 Right
      11 Left

      Second I got:
      8 Left
      10 Right

Kinda weird, but I guess Im kinda on both equally.

I could probably explain myself better if asked. For example, I go with my instinct a lot, and take risks, but I far from rule out thinking logically. I kinda mix both together.

Again, I could probably explain better if asked... but thats not what this thread is for!

      What have others gotten?

I think I'm pretty balanced in both directions..
I got left brain for the first test and I got nine right and nine left for the second test.
      That was kinda fun

      Same here.

Such as for tests: My instinct is to stick with my first choice (true/false), but then logically I think, but if I change it I have 50% chance of being right and maybe I didn't read it correctly the first time, but if I leave it I have 50% chance to be wrong too.

I wonder if we got close to the same because we are related. I think genetics might have something to do with it.

Dad = Techno-geek (no offence dad) and good with numbers
Mom = Artsi-fartsi (that what she calls it) which means good with visual stuff including drawing.

I guess i'm more of a left brained person, I got:

      First test:
      8 Right
      10 Left

      Second test:
      6 Right
      9 Left

hmm only took the first test, but wasn't surprised by the results.

      15 left
      3 right

i could have told this without the test, because that is how i always have been. that would explain my great memory though.

One says I'm left, the other says I'm right.

A while back I took a more intensive test that said I was dead center.

Using both emisphere allowed me to be creative logically and has shown to be quite useful in my career. When it comes to justify ideas to a lefter or a righter, it is hard though. Can't explain things implicitely in right of left terms and, sometimes, that makes me hard to understand.

Is that good or bad? I don't know.

      1st one - 11 left, 7 right
      2nd one - 5 left, 11 right

Guess I'm both. I see myself more as a left-sided person though.

... I cant answer that. Almost every question I do equily in both, and for the second, its almost a tie.

I'm way right-brained on both tests, which is a bit of a surprise to me considering what I do for a living... engineering, running a small machine shop, IS...

But then my "other life" is a musician.

engineers have to be creative, ergo, you are right

One explanation for being so prone to exaggeration and false application is that the left-right brain dichotomy is an easy-to-understand notion, yet is often grossly oversimplified and misused for promotion in the guise of science. This is often known as right-brain mythology, and is associated with occult notions such as yin/yang, righteous and sinister, and day and night. The research on lateralization of brain functioning is ongoing, and its implications are always tightly delineated, whereas the pseudoscientific applications are exaggerated, and applied to an extremely wide range of situations.[/b]
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left_brain#Ps...of_the_research

To most neuroscientists, of course, these notions are seen as simplistic at best and nonsense at worst.[/b]

now this is proof enough that the left brain right brain is crap see because she has only one side of her brain working if that was true she would not be able speak or draw or what ever rubbish put up here. the human brain is one of the most complex thing in the world it cant be simplified to this crap the point is that language or logic and art or creativity are equally managed by both side of the brain i could right a whole essay on how the brain really work but it would be pointless you wouldnt understand and it would proberly be 20 A3 pages long. the main problem or only problem is that you hear some crap and instantly believe because agrees with your assumption when all you need to do is try and disprove this you would see tons of scienctist and psychology researcher where the brain is their main topic saying this is rubbish. so please stop this i left brain because im good at maths because it will make you not look like a complete moron or gullible person in front of someone who has common sense or basic skepticism.

you know, they say lefties are the only people in thier right minds

      (I'm a left handed person )

...Of course, then I would have been burnt at the stake

      that would suck.

[edit] Becoming, then why dont we just say that this is a test to see weather you are more intuitivly or logicaly brained?

is this meant to be a dig at me or something well i do know about this it just convience for you mind to work like this because it crosses over so we move together as a hole. another example is that of eye sight your brain crosses over nerve and flips image so we see as a hole instead of two sperate upside down images. but then again both these are simplication and your top assumption is half right because of complecated matter of visual cortex, sense of where limbs, motor neuron stimulus e.t.c. a famous case against this is what is control of movement which is a complex matter which was comically shown in dr strangelove movie where the scientist move one of his arms and restrain the other so other part of brain our involved in movement i.e. their no one part of brain that is in control of movement i can get the research on this if you want.

No one said we only use one side. Thats just things people are taking out of context.

Its scientifically proven that there is a logical, and a creative side to our brains. Left and Right. It all depends on what side is stronger or more dominant of your thoughts and instincts.

I just thought of something ...

when someones brain is bamaged, the regenerative/adaptive properties of neural nets comis into play. When your brain is damaged beyond repair on one side, it could force your other side to take over its functions.

I'm not sure exacly weather it is true we only use 10% (some say yes, others say no), but this could explain it.

you only use 10% out of a hundred, and you just lost 50? No prob! you still have another 50% to place your lost 5% in!

      just a theory

Well, we technically dont use ONLY %10 of our brain. We use %100, we only CONSCIOUSLY use %10.

you cleary dont understand my argument i saying that the brain left side is logical and right side is creative i havent said we use one side of brain just that the model of the brain your stated is not based on real hard evidence or the views of scienctist who work in field of brain. the point is their is no majour differences between left and right brain and the dominance argument is wrong too i can get the scientific paper refrences but the only thing this could apply to is loosely about control of breathing and i dont want to get into a debate where their no corpus collusm so their only one mass of brain instead of two side. that and countless over stories of when if the person young and has only one side of brain and is perfectly fine to do both creative and logical thing need to be proof that your assumption are wrong and the domience argument is wrong to because how if you only have one side of working brain and can do creative stuff and logical stuff read the link again then by your logic you one side of brain has domience over it only side of brain Einstein

It's neither. It just means that you are probably logical/good with numbers.

Right, this is about one side being dominate.

(I got confused reading the "debate" or what-cha-ma call it so... )

      First Test
      Right = 7
      Left = 11

      Second Test
      Right = 9
      Left = 8

I'm more confused now than I was before I took the tests!
