This is just one of those silly things (made by me, not C & P) of the type normally found on saterical sites like uncyclopedia and stuff.

I have no clue if someones done this before. I couldn't find anything on it.

I might submit it to uncyclopdia when I get the chance, tell me what you think:

      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Many people claim that they can count to some high number that is over 2. This is wrong. If you start at one and begin counting up, you will never get any higher then two.

How does this work you might ask? Well, there is this false presumption that the number system goes 1,2,3,4,5,6,7..... But thats WRONG. Here is the proof.

These are the multiplication rules for even and odd numbers.

      odd x odd = odd

      even x odd = even

      even x even = even

As you can see. You get even numbers twice as often as odd numbers. Because of this there obviously must be two even numbers for every odd number. Therefore the revised number sequence would look like... 1,2,2,3,4,4,5,6,6,7....

But wait! Theres still a problem! The multiplication rules must be revised!

      odd x odd = odd

      even x odd = even

      2nd even (theres 2 now) x odd = even

      even x even = even

      2nd even x even = even

      2nd even x 2nd even = even.

Therefore, in actuality, there are 5 even numbers for every odd number! So, counting from one, you would count.... 1,2,2,2,2,2,3,4,4,4,4,4,5 This keeps repeating into infinaty. So, therefore there are an infinate number of every even number. You will never get to three. You will never get to four. You will most certainly not get to five and you must refrain from passing GO and collecting $200.

This is the actual number system. It will take its place with the natural number system, the whole number system, the integers and be close buddies with imaginary numbers.

Now, before the economy colapses and everything reduces to chaos we must all switch to binary where a 2 will never appear. 0 and 1 are both safe numbers.

      Unless, 1 = 2

Note: Half of the joke is that it makes just enough sense to sound truthful. If you actually try to disprove it you are just being silly. =P

also, it pretty unclear and crappy at the moment. If anyone has advice on how to clear it up and/or jokes to add onto it, it would be appreciated =P

      EDIT: made spacing better

Sounds........confusing. I'll be sticking with the normal number system.

I made the spacing a little more bearable.

Hmm.... must find a way to make it more clear and less confusing =P

i got a better math joke

what is 25 divided by 5

well 5 goes into 5 once and 20 goes into 5 four time so it 14.

      proof

      14
      14
      14
      14
      14

five four are 20 and five ones are 5 so 20+5=25
      so 25/5=14

Intresting point, but that mathamathical philosophy just seems pointless to me ^__^
