    Thread: Today I Ate...

      They say you should keep a food journal when you are trying to monitor what you eat (in an effort to lose weight or eat healthier), since most people don't realize how much they snack or the unhealthy foods they eat everyday. I don't necessarily want to lose weight, but I really should try to eat better...

      So, today I ate:

      - bowl of Special K w/ red berries cereal in 1/2% milk
      - piece of sharp cheddar cheese
      - 2 cups coffee
      - 2 bottles of water
      - 2 slices pepperoni pizza
      - 1/2 bacon burger (at a restaurant)
      - a few French fries w/ ketchup (also at the restaurant)

      hey aside from the:
      - piece of sharp cheddar cheese

      Not to totally disgust you or anything (not that I intentionally would...), but I heard from a chemistry teacher at my school that if you put a magnet in a bowl of Special K with milk in it, it will pick up all the iron file that they dump in there.

      Yeah you could probably do that, the human body absorption for iron is very low though, so most of it just goes right through.

      ok, i&#39;ve had a bowl of muesli, and one glass of water. also three cadbury&#39;s roses chocolates, and a lindor truffle...i know..bad, bad.

      this is starting to remind me of bridget jones&#39;s diary, where she writes down what she&#39;s eaten that day...lol

      Well Burns. I hope you were not intending to keep this post a nice clean log of your eating habits. IF so I think I may have sabotaged it out of the gates.

      So I might as well continue.

      I have always heard that fasting for a day every now and then is good for you. Not including water.
      I have tried this a number of times and come later in that evening I break down and eat....and eat...and eat.
      How week and sad is that. There are so many people that go hungry not by choice and my week mind breaks down at the end of one day and becomes a gluten.

      Anyway.
      Has anyone tried fasting. I heard it is good to cleanse your system.
      GOSH. again. I just can&#39;t help to think I am actually giving preemptive thought on NOT trying to eat. I feel enormously humbled.

      I havent been especially healthy myself.

      My first meal today so far:
      13 greasy sausages (it&#39;s those small ones, but I don&#39;t know the name of them in English), 3 salty eggs, potato sallad & mayoneise. 0.5 litres milk to drink with it.

      And 300-400g candy as dessert.

      Oh well, it is Christmas holiday, so the point is to stuff oneself full of food, isn&#39;t it?

      No, no, no - I ate all that food BEFORE I thought about making this thread and trying to eat better. Yesterday was kind of a bad day because I usually eat pretty well, unless we go out to eat which is maybe once a week.

      No worries - I wanted to see what other people are eating too, not just me.

      The fasting thing sounds good, but I just don&#39;t know if I could do that. I love food too much&#33;

      Basically, it&#39;s a sugary cereal with marshmallows. Think ten pounds of sugar per five pounds of cereal.

      Today I ate...
      A cup of hot chocolate
      Some fruit juice
      A bagel

      .... That&#39;s it. It&#39;s only 2 in the afternoon here, though.

      arent inherently bad,

      the fries with ketchup combination is really bad though.

      Let&#39;s see...

      -Two bowls of Rice Chex
      -Milky Way candy bar
      -Ginormous double cheeseburger (It&#39;d dwarf a double quarter pounder easy.)
      -About two liters of Coke
      -A cup of instant cappuccino (Which was surprisingly tasty, but maybe that&#39;s just because it was my first dose of caffeine in the morning...)

      Still have to eat dinner (I&#39;m all backwards in my sleeping patterns, it&#39;s 2:00 AM here and I probably won&#39;t be asleep until 6:00)
      Overall, though, I&#39;m pretty surprised at how little I&#39;ve eaten to day relative to my norm.

      Ah, I forgot to post yesterday...

      Yesterday I ate:
      - bowl of Frosted Mini Wheats in 1/2% milk
      - 2 slices ham pizza
      - 2 slices pepperoni pizza
      - 1/4 of a Toberlone chocolate bar (reminded me of you, NeAvO)
      - chicken, fries, and garlic bread for dinner (James made it)

      damn, this isn&#39;t going so well - I wanted to be more aware of what I eat but this is just depressing.

      So far today I ate:
      - bowl of Special K (w/ extra lead poisoning, or whatever) in 1/2% milk
      - cup of coffee

      not too bad so far today... but I just got out of bed about an hour and a half ago
