There is a rule. After so many moves without a piece taken, it is considered a draw.

During certain times of the year, at a place near me called Legacy Village, they have human size chess pieces. It is cool. People sit around this 12' x 12 ' board and watch people play.
I never had the guts to play (sissy) - a lot like at the County fair, the people who walk by the hammer and bell, saying - I could hit that bell.

My wife and I took a cruise through the Mediterranian for our honeymoon, and there was a giant chess set on the ship. I played a few games with an elderly gentleman. My wife snapped a few photos of us playing for posteriety.

I saw this beautifully carved chess set made of oak in a museum once. Each piece was different and they were all human sized. The detail was extraordinary.

I always think of the movie The Shawshank Redemption. He carved his own set.
I would like to do that someday. Out of prision ofcoarse.
