I just chose my avatar to fit my name so I'll just give the meaning of my name instead:
-I consider wolves as being symbolic of feral strength and freedom
-Emeralds are believed to be calming and have healing properties (plus its my birthstone)
-So combining the two you get a strong but calm persona (which I originally envisioned as a sort of dream guide)

I generally like the photo because it's rather pretty. I use it as an avatar because it's almost as if she's shocked at the context of the post she's looking at.
(and it's christmasy because christmas is awesome)
