Thread: What Do You See When You Press On Your Eyes?

Dark green cubes flying around, circles bursting, worms floating, etc. Charcoal background. u - u

I see clouds of green, yellow, and grey starting from the outsides of my vision. They quickly close in to the center to fill my entire vision. Then they become mechanical gears...like cogs, spinning moderately fast. There are also spots of blue which just appear. As I take the pressure off my eyes, everything turns back into clouds as they clear away (like dust settling from an explosion).

When i was little, i honestly saw different things that im not sure on how to describe. Ill try to put them so thye make sense

I will first see some dust or something, then i will see an explosion. Next i would be seeing little planets of some sort go by me and then it all dissapears into a huge yellow/orange oval like shape with empty space in the middle. Then it will turn into kalidescope patterns and repeat.

Seems to be a natural form of the inkblot test combined with the visual after image effect. So really what you're seeing as an after image of what you were looking at beforehand (and if you're not aware of that, that's where the inkblot concept comes in, and your mind trys to find meaning).

You can make the effect more pronounced by looking at a brightly lit screen, or brightly lit scene for a minute or so beforehand.

You don't seem to add any new shapes, but you do change the colour of what is already there...
Perhaps thats due to your fingers changing the amount of light getting through your eyelids?

Well i'm a "filthy non-beliver" so i just see some guy with a beard lol
Just stare at the center of this, trying not to move your eyes or blinking to much, for about 20 second.



(it works by just staring at a blank wall too... but more fun with your eyes closed... and helps point out why whe see anything at all)

Either i'm not pressing hard enough or I only see black, I think it's the first :S

I've created this optical illusion to demonstrate the principle, however you shouldn't close your eyes for this to work.

My vision goes a bright white, and what appears to be checkered black and white squares spinning.

The second I close my eyes in a dark room or place my palms over my eyes (touching your eyes is not necessary) blocking out all light I see a like kaleidoscope of colour changing into what ever I can possibly think of and I mean anything! Not clear kind of like a semi-frosted TV screen in my head turns on.

All I can say is do some research on the pineal gland people.

I see gray. Lots of gray. Looks like a maze at first and after 15-20 seconds turns into a tunnel.

I tried again last night.

The middle of my vision was very bright white, and around that pixels of white and black spiraled. Pretty cool.

What is the cause of this effect?

A bluish or black circle by the inner corner of eye rimmed by a lighter color.

Black, white, and grey spirals. The spirals twirl while I move the eyeballs under pressure. I also get distorted checkers in black and white. No colors.

Beats, eventually my eyes start to pulse with my heart, after about 10 seconds it hurts. Strange idea, I doubt it means anything.

I see a slightly blinking light towards each corner. It then becomes this strange almost mini-checkered black and white pattern that moves and twists a bit, almost like some of those optical illusions. Kind of cool.

I'm pretty sure the images appear because as you press on your eyes, the pressure restricts the blood flow to certain areas of the eye, making it go sort of on the fritz. I'm not sure, but that's my unscientific explination. If you keep one eye open and put pressure on it (ie. press on the bottom lid), eventually you will begin to lose sight in that eye. Of course it comes back as soon as the pressure is released. It's amazing how intricate and fragile, yet sturdy the eye is. Fascinating!

Colors and a tunnel made out of diamonds spinning. It changes for me a lot, it's so cool. I don't need LSD to see sick things.

i something different every time i press my eyes in. i see stuff, but i sort of concentrate on it and it turns into something, or i percieve it as something. like i one time i saw a house with big glass windows, i was seeing from the back garden. another time i pressed my eyes in i was looking down a well.
but before i see these images i first see black, then i see a sort of chessboard/checkered stuff, then that stuff swirls round, then i see flashing lines which then start to swirl, then they slowly dissapear, then i see image. and by that time i am in pain lol.

*presses eyes*
ok, that time the image i saw was a sofa, just a sofa floating in nothingness, i couldnt push my eyes any longer to let the image further develop, because it was getting sore.

hey i just thought, maybe this could be used as a LD induction technique.

What i see is a twisting grey tube with a grid on the walls and then blobby pixelated geometrics appear and fly towards me. The tube begins to twist more voilently and the shapes block most of the field of view, from there it blacks out and it hurts to continue. So how about you?

First I see a fuzzy green and orange blob than I see the tile of my grandmas house and the cupboards by it. Sometimes I see her dead dog

i only know how hard to press because i know what i see when i press hard, when i see the stuff appearing then i know ive got the right hardness.
