Ah, congrats. It seems like only six days ago that I joined this site. I've grown to almost know some of you guys and I just want to say... I just wanted... well... I love you guys...

w00h00! We've really had just over 12 600 members sign up, which I think is fantastic. That, and I'm confident we have more active members now then we've ever had in the past. Plus, DV is just a stone's throw away from 400 000 posts.

Thanks for all your hard work in setting up and maintain this site over the years ice.

On a side note, if you look at our full member list, it's sitting on exactly 999 pages, which is weird because we have 10,000 members and 10 members a page. O.o

Woot woot 10,000. I have been here for just over a year, but I think it was still only like 6 of 7 thousand when I joined, though I may be wrong.

Edit: Wtf? It still says 10,000 members on the forum menu thing, but the latest user isn't the same as is in the Seeker's screenshot, and this person only joined like 2 hours ago, not yesterday.

yay we have 10,000 people, but how many just signed up to see what this was and lost intrest? or discarded that sn and are using another name? 10000 is awesome though

I just did a bit of statistical magic, since I was curious.

I quickly ran through the member list and found that 2,348 users are currently registered on the forum with no posts to their name. Not a one. I think that's a pretty conservative estimate of inactive users - I mean, people with 5 posts who haven't posted in a year could really be counted as inactive too.

That's quite alarge community of lucid dreamer.

I would wager that half the remainder are currently inactive too. There are also many who have more than those 5 posts but haven't been here for half a year, and though they may return to activity, I don't think they can really be considered "active users" either. They are definitely counted as "real" members, and not just post 5 times and leave type members, but I wouldn't call them active.

I think I'm around member 565 or such (currently). Though I do remember a few posts when I originally registered that claimed me as member 666 (no even making this up).

Man, this is soooo kewl! I can remember when on a good day, we had 20 posts! Yep, back in the days when dinosaurs roamed the earth, we could expect maybe 1-2 people to join a day

That's really incredible. I can only dream that my own message board will reach a legitimate "100" users. (We have reached 100, but I'd be willing to bet that 75% of them don't post at all. )

Of course. What I don't understand is why 2,000+ people would go to all the trouble of registering an account but never actually posting.

Yes congrats too DV. I've been here long enough to see people come and go but there sure is a good variety at any one time. Keeps things interesting! The excitement of newbies and the experience of oldies combined. My first and only forum that I actually participate in. (I'm a lurker on another non-dreaming site.) Oh yea I guess I joined LD4All once when DV was down, but I didn't like it very much and I haven't been back there for a long time. It seems "messy" or something, and the posts aren't as intersting either. I like it here better.
