      Running For Love - ?

      A'hoy hoy,

With the summer coming up, and my desires to make some renown action in order to feel like I have achieved something or demonstrated a passion of mine, I wondered what people would think of this idea.

To run 1000 miles to see my loved one. Yes, 1000 miles. Unfortunately, a few months ago I moved this far away from her due to certain circumstances (that do not need to be delved into right now, unless someone is interested..).

I am curious how many people, if anyone, would make a pledge to help me buy rooms to stay on my way (because it is obviously a long run), and food. That is all the money would be spent to, unless, other people joined me in the run to see their own loved ones, etc.

Corny? Cheesey? Hell yes, lol, but fun. So let the polls commence.

I look forward to the feedback, thank you.

Oh my god! If the man I loved did that for me, I would be so shocked that I'd die of heart failure on the spot. Why aren't you two married yet?!

Um... not to be the rain on such a wonderful parade, but may I make a suggestion? *whispers* That you shower before ringing her bell?

i usually don't run unless something is chasing me.

maybe you could do a 1000 mile drive instead? it won't be the same level of sacrifice but you won't get all tired and sweaty, and you'll still get to see the look on her face when she opens the door.

i have some money floating around in a paypal account and if you're genuine in your goal i wouldn't mind transferring some cash in the name of love. i just don't want every kiddo that thinks he's in love to be dogging me for cash to take his baby out.

      pm me if you're serious.

lets say you run 8 hours a day at an average speed of 3-4 MPH (it depends on what kind of shape ur in though!), thats 28 miles a day. 1000/28 is about 36 days to get there. now the costs, lets say 70-80 for hotel (im working in USD here...) and another 20 for food. so thats 3420 total. ride your bike, youll get there 4 times as fast, but the reaction wouldnt be the same... . i'd pledge some money, but im practically broke (btw, i suck at calculating these kinds of things! i figure i'm gonna ride my bike to the pacific ocean when im 20 yrs old just for the fun of it 8) (thats halfway across the U.S., im not sure how far it is though)

      GO FOR IT! 8)

I've been told O'nus is a hell of a basketball player.

I'm definitely hesistant to encourage you...but I would be impressed if you did carry it out and succeed. He's a serious guy...you'd have to carry a backpack of spare clothes, right?

Haha...yes, there is always driving 1000 miles. That's pretty dedicated already.

lol, thank you guys for your feedback. I probably won't do such a thing for a little while, unless I feel confident in getting some support for it sooner (finances are a little tight). Plus, I'd like to get in a little more shape first to, lol.

I'd walk 5000 miles to see her (yay proclaimers! *Nods to Howetzer*). Although, she would probably be mad because it would take so long to walk 5000 miles and she would rather me just drive, lol.

I'd hope to take a shower with her when I get there .... if she's not that grossed out by the raunchy rotten-skunk-on-a-stick smell.

I'm still curious how many people would pledge to such a thing, or even take part and do it themselves (are there many that love someone enough out there?? *Squints eyes* There's gotta be). Considering how many views this thread has, it does not seem that promising :- But ah well.

      Thanks for you feedback!

that is awesome...generally i denounce this sort of thing...i really dont know why people think love > everything else (im gonna get a few angry glares for that)...but i say go for it o'nus...when are you planning on doing this? if it isnt too soon, i might be able to get you some money... i recently was fired, and even tho i have another job lined up, im not about to give anybody any money til at least my next paycheck i'd jus like to know how soon you intend to be undertaking this...
