I'm always saying that I'm a nerd....Vocabulary is really a great brain exercise. My junior year I studied for the sat's and really enjoyed learning vocabulary.

frivolous, otiose, incoherent and incomprehensible are words I like...not too big or anything but I like them.

One of my favorite words is revel...
Some words I just like how they sound, some I like the way the letters look next to each other, some words I enjoy writing by hand, some I like the meaning...but I like EVERYTHING about revel.. as well as stellar, it has the same sort of appeal to me. echo is another favorite, it also holds a lot of personal meaning with me. I also like enjoy and ever, but their appeal is very different from the rest...

I like "lapidary" and "synesthesia." Sanskrit words too, like "Avalokiteshvara." It's fun trying to figure out Asian words from their variant Roman-alphabet spellings, like tse/tzu/zi in Chinese.

I'm a word nerd, but I don't believe in "proper" usage--language is either improvisation or cliche, and I'd rather fall flat with an odd construction than rely on prefab phrases for expression.

      I'm surprised CT hasn't plugged Firefox's built-in Dictionary.com word searcher yet.
