      Weekend breaks to New York!

      I'm confused lol.

How does your street system work? I have been looking around at Hotels and stuff in New York for a quick weekend break, and someone said to me about 58th Street this and 85th Street that and about what vacinity to stay in.

In England we just name our roads after dead people and flowers lol.

I guess what I really need to know is if I am flying out there, where is the best area to stay in to be pretty local to everything? I know I cannot be close to everything, but I have no clue about New York. I have looked on Expedia for some help and they have a lot of places to stay like Central Park, Broadway etc, but don't know what is where, so wondered if I could get some inside information from you guys who know New York?

Hotels like this look ideal, but again I am only guessing at what I think would be good:

      Park Central New York Hotel

New York hotel 3 blocks south of Central Park

      Hotel class

      Shopping and shows

This Midtown New York hotel offers a desirable location diagonally across from Carnegie Hall, 1 block from Broadway, 2 blocks from Fifth Avenue shopping, and 2 blocks from Central Park.
See this hotel on a map

      Sidewalks of New York

The Park Central New York Hotel's restaurant has a wall of windows for people-watching along Seventh Avenue. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel. A business center is open 24 hours.
      More hotel information

      Pillowtop dreams

Guestrooms feature pillowtop mattresses and down comforters. Other highlights include 32-inch flat-screen TVs, desks with ergonomic chairs, and both wireless and wired high-speed Internet access.
      More room information
      Thanks

We drive on the RIGHT side of the road

That's all I know about NYC, sorry.

I can imagine Adam "accidentally" driving in the left lane while in America
Things are not as they seem

Okay, in Manhattan, most of the streets are named after numbers. Once you live here, you actually end up memorizing what's on what street. It's a grid system. Not hard at all to figure out.

Now Park Central sounds great! It's a great hotel. Easy access to most things.

On a side note, it hardly matters where you stay, you're going to end up traveling a lot either way. There are hot spots downtown, uptown, midtown etc. I'm sure you want to see most of them.

Anyway, when are you coming and how long for? You know NeAvO is there right now right?

Wont be till May as got 'other' destinations for the next couple of months - but hoping to book now so I don't have to worry about it. I was going to book into that place but thought I would check now.

Oh the system is a doss, it's pretty much street numbers and avenues. Besides if you get lost get a taxi, they're frickin' everywhere plus a reasonable price.

      Also I'm no longer there

aw man switching from a right steering side to the left, and then switching road sides, your gonna feel awkward driving Adam, just take a cab anyway, cabs are so much more easier to get to and parking in the city is A PAIN IN THE ASS.

Enjoy my hometown! I miss it

Phoenix is pretty though, the desert look or w/e

But NYC is just huge, vertically and stuff.
I would rather die on my feet then to live on my knees.
