DV Monthly Newsletter

There have been several ideas I've seen thrown around for an in-forum monthly "Times" or newsletter, but none so far have worked out/been continued. Today I was thinking that it might not be a bad idea to try out. Of course, with any newsletter, someone has to work it. For something online and not too big such as this, only a few jobs would be needed: Reporters; People who write the stories that go into it Editors; People who spell, grammar, and word watch the stories Graphic Artists; For neat pics That's all I can think of right now That is not to say a single person couldn't do it. I could by myself if I wanted to. But the more the merrier, right? For content there would be two necessities: - Stories - Advertising I was also thinking of other possible sections: List of: - New members of that month - People who have completed the LD challenge of the month - DV's person of the month (Selected by the NL staff) Some other sections: - Interesting threads - Chat Excerpts Any other Ideas or comments etc. would be greatly appreciated

Great stuff. I'd like to be involved somehow. I'd like to write a column or something. Dunno what about yet though. Probably just to be sarcastic and make fun of peoples.

That is a wonderful idea and would deserve a link from the main forum page I think. If a monthly newsletter turns out to be too much work, perhaps a quarterly one could be done? Also, it's been a goal of mine to get something 'real' posted in magazines and Sunday suppliments. I've been trying for over a year now to write something for the Parade. Maybe soon....

I'm in as either a writer or editor. I could probably whip up something in the picture department as well. Hey, can I get a column/section dedicated to Off-Topic? That'd be sweet.

I'd imagine the people writing the stories would be writing pretty much whatever they wanted But I think that more specific assignments would be handed out... Like-- Offtopic is a huge chunk of forum, so it'd be broken up probably into ED, the lounge, and DV Favorites. No Help section stuff. Then I think a single person for the Newbie area & second forum group, then so on...

I can't believe I'm saying this.... Awesome Idea Seis! I'd love to be a writer for this DV Times newsletter. I am a very good writer (just look at my English grades) and I can put an interesting spin on stories. If we're doing things by section, I'd love to do stuff for Lounge area stuff, or maybe the Newbie section. (I'd like the Lounge better ) And I could interview people via PMs. This is gonna be sweet!

I am a lot smarter and creative than most people here give me credit for, yes... And I'll have a list for sections up in a moment Here's some sections that are going to be regulars: (If you have any ideas for more, just post) Main Sections: (Up to four on one) Lucid Dreaming forum - No one Sleep and Dreams forum - No one The lounge - No one Dreamviews' Favorites - No one Entertainment - No one Extended Discussion - No one Other - Default Side-Stuff: (One or two people) New Member List - No one LD Task Completer's list - No one DV Person of the month - No one Comics - No one Just choose an area of interest to write for. As for submitting the stuff, just PM me or any other Editor to be checked out/added to the Newletter.

Well I can do the new members list, and the LD Task Completer's list. I also want to do something with chat, irc and flash, since I am so active on them. (Like brief review and funny excerpts) I'm just offering what I can do, we'll have to wait and see who else signs up for these things. But for the record, I really want to do the chat/s.

Sounds like a pretty cool idea, i'd be up for helping out, what section could i take on? What about DV Person of the month or Comics? Let me know.
