I want to get one of my ears pierced, but I wanna know is it considered tacky now days to have just one ear pierced? I ask because I was thinking about getting my right ear pierced, I want people to know I'm gay, but I don't want to have to shout it out all the time, and I don't act, nor do I like acting, like a stereotypical homo...so I'm at a loss for what I should be doing. |

Well if you want people to know you're gay that's the best way to do it. I only consider it tacky if you get your left ear pierced and that's it (and you're heterosexual). |

Starry starry night, paint your pallet blue and gray,
Look out on a summers day,
with eyes that know the darkness of my soul.
The fact that you were considering whether it's tacky or not would be enough to tip most people off. |

In the latter part of the 20th century, some Americans and Europeans adopted the convention that when a man pierced just one of his ears, it symbolized his being gay. In some circles, it was the left ear, while in others, the right. Men with bilateral ear piercings were relatively rare, and were sometimes interpreted as effeminate or bisexual. |
|
In any case, I think a single piercing is hotter on a guy than two. I think most would agree. |
|
It's too lopsided for my liking. Symmetry is the way to go. |

Symmetry in terms of accessories, though, is not always necessary. |

You could always grow a Freddy Mercury style mustache. That's a pretty good sign that someone's either gay or a cop. |
|
It doesn't mean you're gay. I have the top part of my left ear pierced, and I used to have my left eyebrow pierced. All it means is you don't give a shit what people think, and I've never had anyone think or ask if I'm gay. |

The right one is a sign for being gay. If you read his post he wants people to know that he's gay |

I am posting on topic elsewhere for the most part.
My DJ here at DVs, Realized Aspiration only contains old dreams. I'll be around for the occasional chat, and some unfinished/unstarted RPs.
And you, yeah you, with the ice cream hands. You, yeah you, are my friend. ~ Still my mentor, and an awesome guy.
Exactly. Some guys are average and that's it. But when they come up with a single earpiercing, it kind of adds a flower to a grassy field. The metallic outlook makes it brilliant and attractive. But two earrings? Overuse. |

Saying quantum physics explains cognitive processes is just like saying geology explains jurisprudence.
If you are a bit indecisive because of what you think people will think of you, I'd say go ahead and get it pierced. |

Surrender your flesh. We demand it.
I was thinking both ears pierced would be twice as gay. I guess not? |

Piercing your body is just an excuse for self-mutilation unless you're female, then it is almost expected. |

I have no desire to harm myself for no good reason thank you. |

Nah. Piercings are simply a choice, like any other. |
